It's going to suck if Finley can't go against the Queens

Coach Mike McCarthy said TE Jermichael Finley and WR Brett Swain suffered knee sprains and
will be re-evaluated on Monday. Swain seemed to get the worst of it. From talking to players, it appears Finley will be OK but it might be a couple weeks pending the MRI.

Not having Finley and Swain affected some packages, including the one down on the goal line when the Packers were stopped. Swain's absence also led to the 12 men on the field call. "That was a coaching error, that's my responsibility. We had an injury, we made a substitution, the communication was inaccurate. It's kind of a good problem to have. You have players covering for players."

LB Brandon Chillar said he had a slight hyperextension of his left elbow. Said it was nothing.
Clay Matthews was replaced by Brady Poppinga in the second half after Matthews suffered a blow to the head. He said it was minor and he did not have a concussion. "Clay got a little dinged in the game so we just felt it was better to finish out with Brady. We feel good about putting Brady in there," defensive coordinator Dom Capers said.

"Anytime you can continue to run it the way we did it helps you. You're not ever pressing. We were able to establish the run early in the football game in the first series. And once again the most important statistic to me running the ball is attempts and we definitely hit the mark today."

S Atari Bigby on his personal-foul penalty: "That was a dumb play by me. I ran over there, just persuing to the ball, kind of took my eyes off the guy and ran into him. Don't know if he flopped a little bit but I take full responsibility for that. I still shouldn't have been near him to touch him."

LB A.J. Hawk, on what got into him with this team-high eight tackles (3 for a loss): "I just had a couple opportunities, that's about it." Didn't go out there with an edge after some criticism? "Not at all to tell you the truth. I felt real good before the game, just everything felt good for this game. I wasn't trying to prove a point, just playing normal like I always have. I think I had some good opportunities today. Some games as a linebacker you're set up to make some plays. Today was one of those days where you could run around. A lot of credit to the guys up front, they took up a lot of blocks."

The Packers had 41 rushes for 202 yards (Ryan Grant was 27 for 148). "Anytime you can continue to run it the way we did it helps you. You're not ever pressing. We were able to establish the run early in the football game in the first series. McCarthy was asked a follow up, if he was attempting to establish the run on the first drive, and McCarthy gave an unprompted defensive response: "I always have a starting point. Maybe I view it differently than some. I think you can in each football game prepared to run it and prepared to throw it. And games go different directions. I'm not as good as the people that can predict how games are going to go each week. So I'm ready to go in any direction. I've made mistakes before trying to tilt my gameplan just to one direction but our starting point was definitely to run the football today, no question. And we were able to establish that once again for four quarters."

McCarthy said C Jason Spitz had an extensive workout on Friday and came out healthy. They rested him as a backup as a precaution.

missed the game

couple of questions -thanks in advance!

did Kampman rush some from hands down?
Any D sacks by him or anyone?

How did Lang & Barbre do?

I read No Rodgers sacks - any pressures or hits?

Kampman did rush with his hand in the ground on occasion. Got a sack and a few other pressures from it. I'd have to re-watch to find out how many. Jenkins also had a sack.

Lang looked good, Barbre was alright too. None of those plays that just leave you screaming where the protection was. Pocket collapsed a couple times, but Rodgers was upright and had plenty of time to throw almost the whole game.

Wow may be down to 3 WR's heading into next week if Swain and Nelson are out. Does Antonio Freeman or Robert Brooks have anything left in the tank?

Jake Allen off of the practice squad probably the only real option to add a guy for next week it sounds.

I laughed at the comment about Swain's absence leading to the 12 men on the field. What, otherwise it would have been 13?

Hear that. But we did have 5 last week with 3 opposing DL starters out. So I'll take that as some sort of progress

Rodgers has a 110 qb rating. Im not a fan of the qb rating stat but still impressive

This was a great week to be a Packer fan. We win. Bears and Vikings lose.

Next week is going to be tough if Finley, Nelson and Swain are all out. I think we should try to run the ball at Allen early, as well as throw some screens his way to try and slow his pass rush.

Rodgers is amazing.

He has the second best QB rating in the league behind our terrible offensive line, without a running game and on a team that has dropped a lot of passes this year.

One way to contain Allen, would be to do what Sunshine did, and tell Lang to let him through, so Rodgers can flip him into the air
