I caught the flu from friends and most of them have either recovered now or getting better now so I'm positive its not the H1N1. I have a good immune system so fighting the flu isn't a problem either. I just can't take in anything other than Milk and water at the moment and its the hallucinations that are bad.

I was talking to a good friend of mine who consults for USAA, the insurance giant. They had a huge meeting the other day to figure out how they're going to handle all their business if they get hit as hard as they think they might this winter. They were even brain storming about entire cities being quarantined.

That's a scary thing to think about if you look at the laws of nature. Wide spread plagues used to be a fact of life. Now, our environments are so clean and our medicine is so advanced that we don't have any concept of that -- outside of AIDS and such, and we're even making progress with that.

But if you hear about some of these flu strains and bacteria that are popping up -- we just had a kid in San Antonio who nearly had to have an arm amputated because of a staph infection he contracted in the locker room -- you have to wonder if the germs are making a comeback.

Do you know of any office/sales type of positions in the OC/LA area? Preferrably salary plus commission? I'm a college grad with good experience, currently employed but looking for something new.

I've heard about a section of a college dorm being quarantined during the initial stages of the H1N1 break out and for a week I was scared to even use the University gym and when someone speaks of quarantining entire cities that can get scary to even think about.

An antibiotic and Ibuprofen seems to be doing good. Also drinking Gatorade really helps recoup the lost energy.

Speaking of antibiotics, whatever happened to Sedition, the cool doctor guy who used to be around?

I just have the interviews but they all said from the resume` they want me. oooohh I like that

Any tips/pointers as to what worked for you dude? Like job search engines, strategies etc.. I've been looking for a job in Engineering for a long time with little to no luck so far.

yeah, well i'd half ass searched for about a month, just emailing my resume` out. The search engines I was using were my CSUF alumni career center and craiglist.

2 days ago I stayed home from work for other reasons, but ended up spending about an hour polishing up my resume` and I went on craigslist and for sent out about 6 places. For each employer I wrote a customized repsonse listing their requirement and how I met them, instead of just forward a resume` saying I'm interested in the position.

Then, most importantly, I called each place by googling their contact info and left voicemails for the human resource dept. of the three places that responded, one of them just liked my resume` and the phone call had nothing to do with it. But 2 of them, (the best 2 of the 3) called me back saying they got my message and I had to actually tell them to check for my resume` they found it, we did phone interviews, then set up something for next week.

The most promising job is a suit and tie, REO type of work in Costa Mesa. Coincidentally, it's the one of the three that isn't giving salary plus commission, but I think it's the best industry for me and they screen their employees the hardest, which I like.

Juding by the number of students I've been in touch with over the past week, there is a good chance atleast 75% - 85% have suffered from flu recently and have some amount of H1N1 virus in them.
