Stephen Jackson for Big Baby and filler

Post#1 » by Mylie10 » Tue Oct 27, 2009 4:50 pm

Anyone interested in a deal revolving around Jackson and Big Baby?

I heard an interview with Pierce in the offseason about how difficult it is for him and Ray Allen once the playoffs come around. The minutes are very tough on those 2, but the Celtics don't appear to have enough guys to take on the load.

Marquis Daniels ia a nice pick up, but Stephen Jackson would be huge in that role of sixth man and back-up to those 2 guys. He can also play some 4 in certain matchups.

The Warriors need some real beef on the roster and especially since they've lost Brandan Wright for the year.

I know you guys need some back-up beef youselves, but the idea of Jackson and his toughness with the rest of your roster would be like having Posey back. Jack does more than Posey and you wouldn't have any attitude problems with him having to answer to your main men.

I think you guys will be in the Finals without a Jackson deal, but Jackson would allow Pierce and Ray to be fresh once the dance starts.

If Baby and a filler (TA/Scal) + Giddens/Walker works (not sure if it does), I say do it.

Perkins / Wallace
Garnett / Wallace + Jackson
Pierce / Jackson
Allen / Daniels
Rondo / House

That 9 man rotation would be unreal.

Baby just signed. Technically, I don't even think we can include him in any trade just yet.

Not til December right? If Jax isn't moved by then, I hope we make the best offer possible without hurting our core.

Jackson has a horrible contract and is a cancer. No way we trade for him...

Besides Davis can`t be traded until Dec 15th and is a BYC which makes trading him extremely difficult...

Three thoughts:

1. Jax would be a great addition to the Celts.

2. We cannot fit his contract in very easily moving forward. Provided we resign Rondo and Allen, there would be HUGE lux tax ramifications next season (probably dollar-for-dollar on Jax's $8.5m).

3. There's no need for us, or anyone, to give anything of value for the guy. Ws will have to either take back bad contracts or throw in their pick next year to dump this guy, and their fans seem to be the last to know about this. The idea that they could get a young player of value and expiring deals is nuts.

davis + TA + scal works, even with BYC.

i do this in a heartbeat. we've seen lots of examples of so called cancers turn into very valuable players when in a winning situation.

yes it means we will have a big payroll but the owners haven't been afraid of that. and SJax is nice insurance if Ray bolts.

I saw Jackson single handely destroy the Knicks in person - so I am biased towards him. The guy is a stud. He is the kind of complete player Doc loves. I can't imagine we would pass on a deal for him..

I would do this trade, you can even have the rights to Dino Radja and Alaa Abdalnaby if you want.

Going after Gay for Davis and a future draft pick by Boston makes more sense given the amounts of the contracts involved.

I don't want S. Jackson if I'm Ainge. I don't like his salary. If Boston is willing to pay that much for a small forward, I'd rather spend it on Diaw, or C. Butler or Prince who each have one year left.

Capt. Jack has always been one of my favorite players....when he's not doing his whole going crazy thing. There are stretches where he's a choir boy, but those stretches don't last long.

I'd love to only have to give up BBD and a filler for a player of Jackson's talent-level. And like you said, I think KG, PP, RA and Doc would keep him in line. But adding him in with Rasheed might be a bit much. I'd still do it though.

C - Rasheed Wallace
PF - Sheldon Williams
SF - Stephen Jackson
SG - Eddie House
PG - Marquis Daniels

That is a sick bench. Though, Big baby would be a nice replacement for Sheldon "butter fingers" Williams.

We'd be unstoppable with Jackson. But the money probably isn't going to be possible, right?

Glen Davis is nothing compared to Jackson.

Jackson will play for Cleveland this year - you can mark my words. Cleveland will trade a pick and Big Z who will get cut and return to team.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

If that happens, I'll cry. We don't need any of the other 4 top teams getting any more help. Jackson would kill us in Cleveland. I think he could really be a good sidekick to LeBron. Please God, don't let this happen.

What makes you so sure this will happen sam i am?

I have no inside information. I just know that Danny Ferry has put his team in position to hit a home run at the trading deadline. If the Fakers can get Gasol for nothing I absolutely expect the Cavaliers to pull off a similar heist with and expiring max contract.

How can anyone condemn Jax only to turn around and play grab-ass with Sheed?

Their reps are almost identical... right down to their understated "great teammate" status.

He's not coming to Boston but how can anyone not love the idea? People are odd.

I'd trade TA/Scal/JR for him. Jackson's deal is too large to give up anything more than expirings for him. Plus he is old and not the best locker room guy.

:-? :-?

Has 'Sheed been arrested with guns? Last I checked, only Jackson has been...

And 'Sheed's a champion and an upper echelon player...Jackson is very good, but he's not there...
It's still 17 to 11!!!!
