How does this sound?
To Edmonton
Bozak
Bouchemin
Kadri
Two of our young players CHALK FULL of talent and arguably our best defensemen.
To Toronto
Hemsky
I know your probably thinking this is too good to be true. But I remember hearing an article where the Oilers were looking to trade for young talent down the road. We get to pair up Hemsky with Kessel, and everyones happy.
Thoughts?

Re: Trade Idea
theres no way you trade bozak and kadri... hemsky is a good player and has all the tools to be great, but thats exactly why he's not worth that package, he's had a long time to become great and he hasn't. I was playing hockey with Todd Harvey a while ago in Tilsonburg and he said this about Ales Hemsky... "That guy is so **** good, he could be one of the best players in the league if he would try harder. He just doesn't have that hardcore compete personality" ... something to that effect. And also that he was a bit of a crybaby.
That being said, I would still like him as a piece for sure, he's a feeder. He likes to pass the puck and would compliment Kessel admirably. I would re-arrange that package because I don't think Edmonton is going to pass on a GOOD package, they definately won't get a ton for a guy like Hemsky.
I would say...
Bozak/Tlusty/Finger... but seeing as I would prefer to keep Bozak too... I would probably propose
Kulemin/Tlusty/Finger + 4th round pick... Tlusty was something like an 11'th overall pick and he fits the mold for a high scoring player.. small and fast with a quick release, I think he is a late bloomer, he really ripped up the AHL in the second half last year. Kulemin has a ton of speed and he plays pretty physical for a Russian ... and Finger is a steady defenceman who isn't afraid to drop the gloves and led the team in hits last year.

Re: Trade Idea
Well, Oiler fans are really high on him... REALLY high on him. They make him seem untouchable. Telling me that he should have been top 2 in that years draft right after Kovalchuk was it?
I really think that we should offer up one of our young guys to sweeten the deal.
Maybe add Stahlberg and Sam Gagne into the mix.

Re: Trade Idea
Kadri is completely untouchable after the Kessel deal (and was before it too). The Leafs simply can't afford to part with their top prospect both in terms of the team on the ice and in terms of the perception of Brian Burke and the franchise.
That said, if you can work out a trade without Kadri, Schenn or the Monster - I think everyone else is fair game. I'd love to have Hemsky on the Leafs. I agree that he's a guy who hasn't quite got to 100% of his ability, but he's still extremely good and would be a significant part of this team if he were to remain around his current level of play.
Bozak is a wildcard for me in this - I'm not sure what the perception of his value is around the league being a college player who's a little older than most players entering the league, but still being a good prospect.
(Note: I'd still prefer the 'rebuilding' route - but I think the ship has sailed on that).

Re: Trade Idea
If there is one player I'm interested in Edmonton, its Penner.
"I definitely knew he traveled, but I didn't know they were going to call it. That was one of them situations in which a great player made a move...and they called the call. And I was like, 'Oh, man, there is a God.'
