D-Wade

Just to start up a friendly discussion...Anyone think Atlanta has a chance to grab D-Wade this offseason?
According to ESPN, a high-profile agent has said he thinks D-Wade will be the most difficult of the big free agents to resign because Wade wants a better team around him.
Not sure about our cap or the contracts, but maybe we could let Joe walk and sign Wade or think of some type of sign and trade with Miami.

We don't have the caproom unless we S&T Joe for a S&Ted Wade, or unless Mo doesn't pick up his option and we renounce Horford as well.

No. Even if we had the cap room I would think the answer is no. There are too many teams with cap room next summer that are sexier destinations than Atlanta. There are 2 major reasons for my statement.
1) Ownership. The Hawks ownership doesn't inspire trust that they will always be able to put additional pieces around a star. An owner like Mark Cuban has more credibility with free agents.
2) Lack of a superstar level stud. We have nice pieces, but not great and not occupying the hard to fill spots of PG and C. Al can play C but the refrain is more often one day the Hawks will get a C and be able to move him to PF. When trying to attract a superstar SG, SF or PF, it is beneficial to have C or PG filled with a stud. Another point to this one is that it seems you have to have multiple stars to win a championship. We'd need some breakout performances from Josh, Marvin, and/or Al to be more attractive come off-season.

i think Chicago has the best shot, but Atlanta is defiantly on Wade's (and his agent's) top 5 list (probably top 3 list)

1. elite Playoff team
2. elite teammates that don't dominate the ball and play serious D
3. able to offer max if Joe leaves
4. warm weather
5. major media market
6. black capital of the USA

Even if Joe leaves the Hawks do not have max caproom to offer.
