2009-2010 RealGM Nets Board Rants, But Mostly SIC Rants

Post#1 » by S.I.C. GM » Mon Oct 5, 2009 2:16 pm

I hate it when we lose to the Knicks. I dont care if it is preseason.

Frank once again shows he is not at D'Antoni's level. What is the difference in Gallanari's game and Yi's?

Gallanari might have a better handle and maybe passing ability, but their games seem similar. Why does D'Antoni know how to use his player and Frank has no clue. Why isnt Yi picking and rolling too? He can pop or roll.

Yi is going to be good with a better coach.

Frank and his Defensive Bull$hit. They were better off playing more Offense. Atleast they would have had an idea how to play with each other. Yeah it is nice to work on Defense, but FRANK always says that and the TEAM continues to SUCK at it. Why doesnt he pressure D with the starters or Second unit but does it with the scrubs?

DEAR THORN, how much longer are we going to have to deal with this FRANK BULL$HIT?!?!?!?!?!?!

35 more games i'd bet, then Hill will be the interm for the rest of the year.

Yeah, I feel you on this Sic, can't stand losing to the Knicks. Our biggest problem in that game was actually DEFENSE. You also can't think that the teams defense will improve over night, it takes time to perfect a good defensive game. But if we leave open three's like that in the regular season.... Man... I really want playoffs.

We're stuck with the Opester till the season is over unless he does silly stuff like refuse to play the young guys for the likes of Lt. Dan and Tennessee.

Sorry SOUP no playoffs this year. You don't trade away an allstar and get better and we didn't make the playoffs last year so. . . . This year is about Harris/Lopez (hopefully they're allstars), young guys developing into solid players (Lee, CDR, Yi, and T.WIll), and staying competitive in each game. We are just buying time until next year when we have a top 5 pick, hopefully a new arena under way, and a ton of cap space. As I explained above it's not gonna be a complete waste this season because there are things to look forward too but playoffs are not one of them.

I gotta agree with Rockice on this one.
I'm holding with my prediction, 29 wins.

yeh I think 30 is nice round number...anything above that right now and we have overachieved...but I do feel the Nets will play a lot of teams really close...we just wont be able to finish games (which we're familiar with) only because we dont have enough to do so...

(barring a Lopez explosive All Star calibar year)

Dave D'Alessandro/The Star-Ledger
You haven’t been reading much about L-Frank’s offense this fall, because it’s still kind of evolving, and no matter what he puts in now it’s likely to change the more Senor Pez tears up the landscape.

For example, you remember how they started with the dribble-drive-motion stuff as their foundation, before they turned into a predominantly pick-and-roll team? Expect the same kind of transition this year.

And speaking of which: All they’re emphasizing right now is transition itself. They’re calling it “Wildcat,” but it’s really LF’s take on Indiana’s “quick” offense -- get the ball across in 2.5 seconds, see if you have numbers, get a great (emphasis on great) shot in the first six or seven seconds, and if that’s not there, swing-swing and make the defense play the other side of the floor.

So once you swing it and play the other side, it can flow into a series of two- or three-man games, with lots of random screen/rolls off the post and elbow. Everyone’s interchangeable, but it helps to have big men who can run -- you’ll see them on the same side of the floor in transition at times -- so they can jump on the first mismatch.

Yes, we know what you’re thinking: This is … what, LF’s sixth offense in six years? Yes, the man does like to tinker. But he thinks it matches the personnel. And for now, it’s a good thing -- he can get five guys involved, still emphasize Lopez by sliding him high or low

You know it's basketball season when S.I.C. is attempting to verbally assassinate Lawrence Frank.

Ok.

All pre-training camp and training camp we heard about the "NEW". Where is it?

Where is the Lopez as our anchor? Why do I see a lot of CDR isos? Where is this balanced offense?

The only thing I like is how lee is playing, but I dont even think that is Frank. It is just the way he plays. Moving without the ball.

Finally, Someone can move without the ball!!!!!

Dear Frank,

The great tolerance that I once had for you quickly died yesterday. Even after a complete overhaul of the roster, getting rid of the prima donna's on our team, our frontcourt having a huge game, you still can't close out a 4th quarter. I'm tired of you clapping everytime we have a turnover, which side are you on you piece crap? This isn't something to celebrate. Instead of clapping your midget hands call a timeout and get on their as$ about it. It's been something to blame every year, but now it is crystal clear what's to blame. How much longer are we going to be stuck with this? Same BS over and over. Just blowing games that we should of won in the 4th quarter. I can't take this **** anymore. I hope you clap when my foot is so far up your ass it comes out of your mouth.

Lopez should be getting the ball in the post. I dont like the plan of the guards constantly asking for a Pick. The offense should be geared towards Lopez then to the guards. I dont mind it once and awhile but when Lopez is battling for possession down low dont call him for a pick. The other thing is why is it when Lopez and Yi are trying to post up why are the guards moving the ball to the other side. I know that is suppose to be the new offense but COME ON FRANK!!! Give the PF and C the ball and have the guards move without the ball. Back doors! drive down the lane! Posts and Re-Posts!

THE BALL SHOULD GO THROUGH LOPEZ' HANDS!!!! OUR BEST PLAYER IS OUR C. HARRIS SHOULD HAVE ALWAYS BEEN THE SECOND OPTION!!!!!!!!!
