Game Thread: Spurs vs. Bulls | Thursday 8:00

Post#1 » by Nolan » Thu Oct 29, 2009 9:40 pm

Starting Lineups:

Spurs:
PG Parker
SG Finely
SF Jefferson
PF Bonner
C Duncan

Bulls:
PG Rose
SG Salmons
SF Deng
PF Thomas
C Noah

Well it sounds like Parker's going to play, seems that he just got the wind knocked out of him last night so thats some good news. I think as long as we can contain Rose we should have no problem beating the Bulls tonight and spoiling their home opener.

2-0 here we come! Go Spurs!!!

He's been balding for a few seasons now, dude needs some rogaine.

Sloppy first half, we're giving up way too many offensive rebounds and turning the ball over too much. Duncan and Manu have played great so far though. We need to feed Duncan the ball in the post the Bulls just can't stop him.

Spurs did look pretty bad today, despite of Duncan who played really good.

Defense was terrible tonight. We bit on way too many pump fakes, let a team that struggles shooting the ball from outside get into the paint way too often, gave up too many second chances and our pick and roll defense was terrible.

On offense we turned the ball over way too much and we had no movement off the ball. Timmy played great but everyone else was off tonight.

They just outplayed us... It is going to happen at times. They won because they were able to get boards. We played too much small ball in my opinion... and you can't do that when another team had two bigs like Noah and Thomas that can rebound and get out on the break.

It is going to take a while before everyone gets their niche. I liked what I saw from Timmy... but clearly him having a monster game doesn't mean much if other guys can't step up.

Also put this into context... the Lakers just sucked animal parts vs the Mavs. The Mavs lost to the Wizards. We shouldn't put too much stock into it besides the fact that the Bulls are going to be better than last year.

What a crappy preformance. Bulls definately wanted that game more than us. TD was great and manu played well but no one else showed up. Hill had a couple of nice baskets but it was too little too late. What is the deal with back to backs for this team? We never can seem to get up for that 2nd game no matter how much we rest the starters. Talk about being flat in the front as Mike Taylor would say.

I think every team was below .500 on back to back games on the road last year... It isn't just us...
