jinx

Post#1 » by thesneakysneak » Tue Sep 15, 2009 9:10 am

hey,

just want to know everyones opinion on jinx as a prospect on this team. im not too interested about where we drafted him and what we should have done draft night. whats done is done. i read an article about the early camp turnouts and the slight added muscle to his upper body, albeit still stick figure legs. i have mixed feelings about his chances of becoming a really good player for us. i still have high hopes but i just dont know if he will bulk up enough.

i keep hearing about our massive hole at pf behind diaw and how its our big weakness, but isn't this a really good oportunity to start developing our big man prospect?

by the way i never heard much about why he didn't make the national team for france for the fiba comp, does anyone know any info. kinda surprising with the help LB was giving them. the french team is ripping at the moment, as is diaw, so it could have been valuable for him. although i am kinda glad because the earlier he starts working with the team the better his shot of getting minutes here.
what do you rekon?

Ajinca is a reach prospect that requires more time to develop his physical tools, his basketball IQ and his overall game. The reason he didn't make the French team is partly why he might not be ready for minutes on this team...he's just not good enough. It's one thing to give a player court time to help his development and growth, but you must have a certain level of competence to get minutes. Jinx isn't there yet. Maybe he'll show something more in camp and earn some burn. I hope he becomes a solid reserve as we need that stupid trade to provide some level of return on the investment. :ouch:
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

When he played for the bobcats last year I thought he was an effective player. There is no doubt he will be good. The main thing holding him back last year was after about 15-20 min he was tired out and didn't run the floor very well. He also took a lot of hard shots but he is only like 21 years old. When he learns to look for the easy ones his fg% will go way up. The biggest thing I worry about playing him a lot is a leg injury because he is trying to add upper body weight but his legs are still thin.

...there's no doubt he will be good? I mean come on, the guy is a twig and he didn't play well at all in those few minutes. The man shot .368 against scrubs in garbage time, and he didn't even rebound well.

Also, he had exactly one game of 15 minutes and one game of 19 minutes, so what are you talking about with fatigue? That wasn't what held him back, the fact that he sucks held him back.

There's a chance he'll not suck at some point in the future, but right now he is not an NBA player.

Yeah ive been wondering why that don't play Ajinca that much. But then again i guess you guys are right that he just isn't at the level he needs to be at the moment. Hopefully he can improve a lot and become a solid player off the bench.

Also, Dontell Jefferson. I havn't seen him playing at all i dont think. Does he even get game time? He's only been playing in the NBA for 1 year yet he is already 26.

Dont they have until the 31st? I'd assume they'll wait until the past possible moment (no reason not to)

the 31st was the date in my head... but then i was thinking maybe it had to be made by the start of the season, which would make more sense to me. i wasnt sure.

The deadline is Halloween from what I remember. They haven't made a decision yet but they have a few days (methinks they pick it up even if they don't have plans for him, as it'd be a trade chip)

What is everyone's best case scenario with Ajinca?

No brainer, we did the same with Morrison and May, we have to do the same with Lex.

I think LMA is definitely the best case.
