McHale is a quality analyst

Post#1 » by LordBaldric » Fri Oct 30, 2009 6:06 am

As much as he failed in the end as our GM, I can't argue against McHale's observations in the TNT studio...

Plus he's sort of an entertaining/funny guy.

Hopefully Kahn is just a guy who makes all the right moves. Can't wait for tomorrow night's game!

I always felt McHale was a likable guy.

I was wide-eyed glued to my screen when TNT half time came on today, with a big grin on my face.

I'm just waiting for some McHale gold, like: "lunchbox mentality"

So why do you think he's doing this?

You think he is looking for another NBA front office job? Just likes to hear his own voice?

It seems like more work away from home than he'd want to do, and he doesn't need the money, I'd wager.

I think no to both of these.

I think he figured it would be fun to sit on TV and B.S. about basketball. He might not like to travel, but from what I've seen, he is someone that likes to stay very busy. I think he would've driven himself and his wife nuts sitting at home with nothing to occupy a decent amount of his time.

I think he wants to be well paid while staying in the NBA mindset and doing something where you get to have fun without the stress of fans criticizing everything you do.

Agreed. I think it is obvious that basketball is a huge part of his life. This enables him to stay connected without any real pressure on him.

He just loves basketball, but I think a tiny bit might have to do with the ego. The sheer number of guys named "Kevin" he brought to the team says something about how much he loves himself.
