Where the hell is his defense improving? I'd like to know.

I got bashed for criticizing his D this game, but even though its not his fault the guards are getting into the lane, there's no excuse for not even being near the basket when they get there and contesting half-ass.

I do like that he runs down the court every transition opportunity. That will help against good teams with slow centers (Cleveland). I'd just like him to realize that it is possible to make the allstar team off defense...

This is the root of my disappointment with him.

Well it's not only his D that worries me at times. His offense is not that great either. Per minute he attempts as many shots as Kobe. It is clear to me that he does not know how to create his own shot right now, and the only basket he gets on a regular basis is if one of our other players slashes to the rim, and hands the ball to Bynum on a wide open dunk when Bynum’s defender goes in to help out.

I mean what happened when PJax was talking about we need Bynum for his D and rebounds. It is clear to me Bynum has other plans on his mind then D.

OK Aki, that's just the start of it. He still hasn't put it together yet. The center is the QB on defense, he sees everything. If what you've noticed is true, then he should be a lot quicker on rotations and stepping up quicker to challenge shots.

So far it's been null and void.

What games have you been watching? He has been getting most of his points off of post moves. Here's the end of this thread. You have Drew haters & those that are willing to let him recover from these injuries. The last 1 from his selfish teammate who by the way in 2009 so far is 17 for 45 (38%) 1 for 5 on 3's (20%) with a whopping 5 assist. Also he's supposed to be our lock down defender & his been torched in both games.

Well that selfish team mate delivered a championship so I guess he can be excused for one poor game!

Surprise, Surprise. This board never changes. Ever body can be critizied except Kobe. FYI it has been 2 bad games & just in case you didn't notice..........last year is over. Whether you guys whoo see Kobe as god want to face it or not, had he been unselfish & given that ball to Drew, he wouldn't have gotten hurt! End Of Story!

Kobe can be critizied and I will when I deem its appropriate. So from one post don't just think you can associate me with all the 'kobe lovers' out there because I am first and foremost a Lakers lover and no player is off limits. For instance right now Joe Johnson is burning him and he needs to stop gambling on defense.

But as I said I think he's entitled to one bad game every once in awhile and if you think a 33 point, 8 rebound, 4 steal performance on 43% shooting is a bad game well maybe your standards are a little out of wack. But it's your opinion and you can critize him all you want but seriously to call him selfish for injuring Bynum? The man drove into the lane and took a shot he makes all the time so to me thats a freak accident not a selfish player.

Is bynum made of glass.. i cant believe the flak kobe has taken for an accident.. For gods sake a center is supposed to take contact, if he cant then he should maybe watch it on TV like we do.. Bynum is injury prone .. dont blame kobe for it..

Every shooter has a bad day.. when the rest of the team takes a dump then the bad day looks worse..

The 4 Cs and 2 finals appearances would not have happened without Kobe.. so lets keep this on topic and talk about Bynum..

ACL in 1 year and MCL in the next, misses almost 30 games in each year.. I guess ur bench mark may be a bit higher than mine..

And how did he get hurt both times? Teammates. Injury prone is someone who gets injured all the time usually on their own. Bynum gets injured by his own players.

Another solid night by Bynum. This is what we need from him. He is stepping up with Gasol out. I hope his defense gets better. I see a lot of people complaining about his D but i mainly blame fish for that bc he lets everyone blow past him.

Kobe gets double teamed passes to Bynum who gets fouled hard, guess what glass bynum breaks down again... No team mates to blame this time except for the remote possibility of blaming the passer.. Going forward all bynum injuries should be named BCL (Bynum Collateral ligament) tear..

Hope that it is not an extended layoff..

Bynum seemed optimistic it wouldn't be long-term. Asked how hard it was to make FT that way, he laughed and said: "F'n hard"

"Wow, that's pretty sore," Bynum said abt elbow as he tried to dress himself. MRI tomorrow: "I gotta go get checked out."

Bynum couldn't even lift rt arm to put his clothes bk on. Said it was hyperextended on last play. Called a sprained right elbow for now
