I couldn't tell from this game... In this game Dwight was the same ole' Dwight as in years past, mainly because nobody was able to stop him from dunking the ball.

The scary thing too is that Howard wasn't that engaged without the ball (setting screens) as he normally is.

Defensively Dwight seems a bit smarter though, he's not senselessly blocking shots into the 5th row he's trying to control where he blocks the ball, so he's definitely improved in that regard...

Trashing Harris for the loss isn't fair. It cannot be denied that Devin had a bad night, but Lee was doing a lot more more damage to the team with his bad selection of shots. And of course, with Howard the Beast inside, it was a really really really tough night for Brook Lopez.

Either way this team can't win games until he's back on his game.

Fun fact Yi was the only net to shoot above 40% from the field.

Yeah, Yi was definitely a plus..

Hope we get him more involved next game..

I don't think we really got to see Dwight's offensive game really. He had 7 dunks sure, but a lot of them were slip ups from other guys' drives or plays created by the other 4 guys' movement.

All in all I thought the Nets did alright. This team showed it's youth and the offensive incapabilities in this game. Also, we couldn't compete in this game since Brook was in foul trouble all game.

This team's main problem is definitely an offensive threat. We need someone to step up, take shots for himself, and take on a big role this season for us to become descent in the offensive end. I'm guessing it is Yi if he is for real. It won't be Brook just because the way Frank wants him to play. Which is to be a finisher and to be a passing center. Also we have to run n gun a lot more to cheat away from scoring.

Devin Harris really needs to calm down offensively. He needs to make better decision in transition. He needs to make his shots in order for him to become a hard to cover defensively. He is the person that needs to score in order for our offense to have a good flow.

We need Brook to post up inside a lot more. So we can dump the ball to him and get easy shots. He doesn't look like the guy that will never have a good foot work so I can't see him being superstar player.

Yi needs to get involved A lot more. If he continues his new style of play, I see him to become a 18+ scorer. Once he is getting his touches we need him to work on footwork and passing.

Lee look great he was hitting his shots which look great.

CDR will never be a good player until he start making his shots.

Alston look good off the bench this game

Boone did good defensively but he look like he doesn't know what is going on his timing in rebounding was horrible and he needs to make an outside shot for him to be atleast effective in pick n roll.

Najera needs to play more he had great energy off the bench

I think that if Battie can't fill-in as a backup center, then the Nets should look to acquire one. Boone has always been better as a PF than a C in my opinion, he did a commendable job guarding Howard in his limited stretches today but he's just a bit overmatched against the more physical centers in the league.

Battie should be fine as a back up but I think Lopez is good enough to defend the center. He won't be in foul trouble all the time or if he is he will learn. However, we do still need a back up center but we need a back up that is more of an athletic freak whose a great off ball defender like a Birdman type. Yet Battie can still be useful at certain situations.

Birdman type player... Oh you mean like Sean Williams! I hear he kicked Lawrence Frank's dog though so he's never going to get any playing time =(...

Good game guys. Lee looked good, Yi played like an actual NBA'er, and it was close for a long stretch there.

You guys are quickly becoming one of my favorite teams to watch.

Good luck until we see you again.

Yeah but I wouldn't focus too much on that, Dwight completely dominated the boards.

The game was good it was no contest tho, VC made sure to embarass them from the first play.
I booed the hell out of him by the way. :censored: :kissmybutt:
The only one who would stand up to him was CDR; blocked his shot; good for nothing Boone let him come in the lane all night.

Left the game early but Dwight Howard doesn't impress me Superman needed a boost if Brook sneezed on him they called a foul. He was throwing players around for position to make up for his lack of post up moves.
Dick "I need attention" Bavetta called the game he got the business too.

I saw Ewing's kid at the ticket counter was going to ask him where he's playing now, if he was trying to get the Nets attention. He was talking to this girl though so I left him alone.

He's one dimensional, I will give him credit for creating 1 shot for himself yesterday though. :D

Wow this picture you painted of Yi I thought he was blowing up

I agree that Yi has the potential and physically he's at an advantage. However I dont agree with this doom and gloom scenerio that you predict for ryan like he's doing absolutely nothing or that he could in no way help the Nets had he not been traded. With Yi occasionally showing his versatility o both ends of the floor Yi/ryan would run circles around opposing PF duo's much like Bosh/Bargs

I think Ryan plays with more confidence than Yi therefore I question his mental toughness. A 7 footer with his skill set i would expect much more than what his so called "back up" is putting up. Sorry for your loss and good game last night.

Also you really think Ryan has zero ability to put the ball on the floor? Hmmm strange b/c I saw him go the rack in both games and throught the pre season.

Magic fan super-hype at its finest, it's not quite on the level of Raptors fans but it sure is entertaining

This is your rebuttle? I would've expected more with all your W/L stats w/ Ryan and Yi starting. I dont feel im creating a false hype about Ryan as much you're trying to turn him into Mark Madsen. I made a simple statement that you obviously can't respond to without bias insults about my post. Disappointed. I thought you were more intelligent than that.

It's a simple concept.

If you were to add Anderson to the current Nets roster the team would be slightly better (especially with all the injuries the Nets are facing).

If you were to take out Courtney Lee, and then add Anderson to the current Nets roster the team would be worse.

If the Nets could have both Anderson and Lee I'd take it. But the Nets couldn't have both players, and you know what? It's not a big loss.

This year's draft class has a number of good power forward prospects. This year's free agent class has a number of quality power forwards. The Nets are more than likely to come out of the draft or free agency with a power forward significantly better than anything Anderson or Yi will ever become...

As for your comment about Anderson developing the ability to put the ball on the floor, he was able to do that in summer league (just like he did with the Nets in SL) but in the regular season against NBA talent he can't - and hasn't been able to take his man off the dribble (It's a combination of his average lateral quickness and poor first-step. Not that those things really matter for him given Orlando's offense and his role in it).

Look where you're going wrong here is thinking that me calling Anderson one-dimensional is an insult, but it's not. It's just the truth. Whether Anderson was on the Nets or is on the Magic he's one-dimensional, but just being one-dimensional doesn't make him a player bad. Instead it just limits his usefulness and potential impact on certain teams.

What it all boils down to is this... Going forward Ryan Anderson is more useful for the Magic than he would have been to the Nets.

He would never post the same numbers he is posting on the Magic if he were on the Nets because those same open looks are not generated for him.
