Maybe he was hurt for so long and I just forgot, but IMO Gil's not only back, he's better.

I'm not going to say it was me starting the game-thread that spurred the blowout win for the Wiz....but I'll certainly imply it.

About the game...

Wonder what Gil's and AB's PER was tonight? 40?

JWiz is shockingly correct - THIS is how you take care of teams you are supposed to beat. No mercy.

Once again, what impressed me most about Blatche wasn't his points or his lofty fg%...it was how he got them. It wasn't the Andray Blatche show - it was the Wizards show featuring Andray Blatche. Big distinction.

Arenas, OTOH, simply amazing. No question about it - he's back.

Now let's get CB back next game and AJ back in a few more weeks. Then take over.

Great win. They did what they were supposed to do to a bad team. Best parts of tonight's game:

- Gil did anything and everything he wanted to do. The halfcourt buzzer beater was the final proof that he's back.
- Blatche was friggin' awesome. If he makes me eat my words about him, I'll be the happiest guy on these boards.
- Maybe Foye should start at SG even when everybody is healthy. He and Gil together look darn good.
- The passing was superb. By everybody.
- A Paul Davis sighting!

Nick Young was still useless when it counted but maybe those buckets he made during garbage time can spark him a little bit. But right now he's still firmly behind Stevenson (who's looking better with every game IMO).

Thats still our whole. We need deep at center and I dont want it to be Blatche moving there so we need McGee to develop. That the story behind the story.

Blatche is our second leading scorer so far. Amazingly good news.

Great thing about Blatche hitting his stride is that at 23 and with 3 more years in the league, he's like a big brother out there for Javale. Blatche's confidence and consistency coming off of last season is something Javale has to compete with and also see first hand.

Javale has YEARS to mature. Tonight Blatche showed he's there now. Three games in, but he's showing it's no fluke. Javale's next.

Oh my, this is good.

Foye could start some days, but not others.

Very interesting point. And you're absolutely right - this wasn't Blatche taking over with incredible individual play as much as it was AB playing within the offense and making the shots that were there for him.

I don't know if I want to see Miller coming off the bench. He's just too passive. I'd keep him with the starting-5 since Arenas, Caron and Jamison (when he gets back) all need the ball and require defensive attention, leaving Miller open a lot.

Mark it down. CCJ with the first post providing Blatche as a good example for younger players.

That is a huge statement about how much he has changed.

Gil has changed that much also.

We had the talent. Flip has to be given some credit for some of this molding.

Now we have something. It a piece of the franchise. We have several hard working quality guys. Now the younger players have to step up or get shipped out.

We have mature hard working.. GIL, CB, AJ, AB, and BH and probably MM and Foye

Thats getting over the hump.

Holy f**K! Are my eyes deceiving me. Did our player development team actually DEVELOP a big man???

....or is it just Flip's system?

Im in not hurry to add both back right now. One or the other, sure, both, thats going to be more tricky.

Coaches Coach and motivate. Players do the work.

Dray has been showing skills for years. Its the coach, the system and Dray working harder. But mostly assign that to the HC. No EJ makes a big difference.

I think Randy Foye is fine in his role, He's a 6-3 combo guard who can't defend really good 2s like Kobe, LBJ, Ray Allen, Dwade, etc.

Blatche was SENSATIONAL. Just remember, his shot isn't going to fall like that every night. And when that does happen, we have to see how he's going to respond. But an unbelievable showing by 7 Day Dray.

They played very well tonight without either player. I just want the team to keep playing well. If it's not broke don't fix it.

The problem with AJ and CB is defense. And I'm seeing simple things from Miller that are as valuable as what CB does IMO.

Tonight the chemistry was awesome.

His shot didn't fall like that *last* night, against ATL. But he still put in a solid effort - 13 and 6 with solid D off the bench. I'll take that as an "off" night.
Always remember, my friend: the world will change again. And you may have to come back through everywhere you've been.
