Too early to say Ariza is the better pick up. Artest will prove very valuable when you play those physical teams. I always thought ariza had a great upside. He is going to flurish in Houston. Just the way he plays the game seems like a good locker room guy too. Houston 2-1 could be the biggest surprise in the WC.

Just 1 game for Ariza, it's all about consistency in this league...

there was never a doubt ariza was going to improve. the lakers chose artest over ariza for one reason, physical defense against jefferson/melo/lebron/carter. thats all that matters, not only because those are the players that the lakers will have to beat to win the title, but because it helps extend kobe's career.

This.........+1 dcash

Simply the only reason they moved on Ron, you have to be able to forecast your competition. Trev is a nice wing defender but he's not physical by no means. Look I'm happy for Trev but we have to move on we can't be posting his weekly feats and slobbering all over them saying, "I wish Trev didn't leave".

Everything about pro ball is systematic, Houston's motion offense suits his skills as much as the triangle did. But the Triangle is predicated off making reads on the defense, motion is just moving and cutting and keeping the ball moving. Trev was never going to put up those types of numbers here period.

May be he could get better physically too. After all, his ball handling and shooting has come a long way since we originally acquired him and I didn't expect him to do that. He played good defense so far this season, he just ran into Roy on his good night, which makes him look bad.

We'll get a closer look pretty soon when we play the Rockets.
