We should beat the rams by controlling the line of scrimmage. This is actually a game that our o-line and d-line can feel superior and do some work.. make some holes.. fill some gaps.

Kinda of hard to ignore when most of the board is gone because of someone. Even if you ignore their posts. The board is still dead.

One would think. The Colts just assassinated them. SJax still had a huge game.

The key is to stop him. Bulger aint beating you. Stop Stephen Jackson and the offense dies. We should be able to put points on the board, so again, this is the one key imo

The Rams have major injury issues. Rookie CB Bradley Fletcher, who was rapidly improving and earned the starting job, is gone. Richie Incognito is out, which means less penalties against the Rams but also a lot less interior run blocking. James Hall (remember him?) is battling a hammy and is slowed even if he plays.

Calvin Johnson should be back to full speed, the chronically reshuffled defense has had a chance to practice and develop some chemistry, and Stafford should be back. The early line is Detroit -4.5, which makes their biggest spread as a favorite since they played the Chiefs in Week 16 in 2007. It's only the 2nd time since then they've been favorties (2008 opener @ATL), the second-longest string between being favored in NFL history, trailing only the 1976-77 Tampa Bay Bucs and tying the expansion Browns of 99-00.

The Lions also replaced a running back on the practice squad, releasing Tristan Davis and signing Cedric Peerman

Think Sunday’s game against the Rams is a chance for the Lions to win? Well, they’re saying the same thing in St. Louis.

Just not in the locker room, according to Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo.

“We don’t go there,” Spagnuolo said today in a conference call with Detroit reporters

Without Calvin Johnson, our options are limited. The only thing worse would be to not have Stafford in there and getting shutout again.

Hopefully someone can step it up in the 2nd half. STL is the only team with a defense worse than ours. We need to challenge them.

We lost. It was pathetic. First our offense couldn't score and then penalties killed our momentum down the stretch.

The Lions are trying to maintain a hold on their exclusivity.
Tom Gores' Securus faced a class action lawsuit in 2024. The company engaged in a "quid pro quo kickback scheme" with county jails in Michigan which banned in-person visits in order to maximize revenue from voice and video calls.

Is it wrong that i honestly thought the Lions had no chance going into this game? You normally look at 0-7 and think "They'll win that one", but not my Lions.

I still believe in my 3-13 from the preseason, but it might honestly take a miracle to happen seeing as this was one of the 3 wins. Please god, let Derek Anderson still be the Browns QB on the 22nd.

i couldnt see it as this one was blacked out in Lansing, where i was. thank god.

I said earlier in the thread that the only goal for the D was to stop SJax....succeed there and win. We didnt, we lost. Simple as that.

And a big eff you to the coaching staff for A) getting smoked on a fake field goal and B) the very conservative play calling. ugh

The play calling wasn't half bad. The problem was no one could catch **** until the end of the game.

Bryant Johnson had numerous dead-on balls thrown to him and he dropped almost every single one. He also had a 35-yard reception that he dropped right before he hit the ground that would have given the Lions great field position early in the game and instead gave the Rams possession. When your running backs were the best catchers on the field, the offense wasn't going to put points up.

Our defense was actually doing well, until that fake punt which everyone could see coming from a mile away except for our coaching staff apparently.

Stafford did a good job finding his guys and getting them the ball in good spots, they just weren't catching them. Even if CJ is not our main target on every play, he's a weapon because it opens things up. Without Calvin, our receivers suck ass.

Kevin Smith got injured during the game and missed the second half, while Stafford tied up the score with Mo Morris. But then Delmas got that bogus PI call and back-to-back Jon Jensen penalties gave the Rams SJax' first rushing TD and gave them the game.

Nice game summary.
It's a shame Jansen finished so poorly with the penalties because he was fantastic in run blocking most of the day.
I thought there were a few times where Stafford could have tucked and ran for 5+ yards but didn't. Hard to fault him for trying to extend the passing options but 3rd and 2 is better than 3rd and 10.

^ He probably could have run, but I'm sure he was cautious of his knee even if he won't admit it.

Hopefully our receivers step up or Calvin returns, I really don't want to lose to the Browns.
