Some encouraging stats....
...early in the season.
1. Our starting C (Frye) is averaging 20pts/game and has made an unbelieable 13/20 3pt FGs for 65%!!!
2. Nash leads the NBA with 14 assist/game. with SSOL back in full effect, I expect Nash to regain the assist title this season.
3. GHill is averaging 20/10!!! He's our leading rebounder so far. This can be a dream season for GHill.
I know it's early but these are awesome stats. I still would like to see our bigs rebound the ball more. Lets go for 4-in-a-row at Miami!!

I'm glad that we're 3-0 but our opponents are a combined 1-8. This road trip will tell us a lot more about this what this team is made of.

As long as we don't leave Dequan Cook wide open again we can take care of buisness in South Beach.

Re: Some encouraging stats....
I noticed that in the first 2 games we actually out rebounded the other team. Tonight was big for Amare. He took 12 less shots than Jefferson but only scored 2 less points.
If Frye keeps this up wow just wow.
Grant Hill I say sign me up and get a jersey. He has been every bit as good as Marion in our SSOL days.
And finally my last word is, Richardson was big tonight in the absence of Barbs at least. The next few games should be tell tall signs of our growth.

Frye is going to be a bit streaky but when he's on fire from downtown we have a chance to beat anyone.

Re: Some encouraging stats....
One nice bonus is that the way we're playing - and Dragic looked good, too - is that Clark doesn't need to come in and be a saviour. he can just learnt he game and come along at a reasonable pace. Our defense is better, our 3-pt shooting is improved and even Amar'e is D-ing up.
These are all positives.
let's hope we don't have any setbacks against the real teams upcoming. I don;t care if we lose a couple so long as we're playing right and hustling.

Re: Some encouraging stats....
Other interesting stats:
We lead the league in ppg, but coupled with our pace and TO% we are only 6th in Offensive Efficiency
http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/hollinge ... ague%3dnba
We are 11th in Defensive Efficiency(hooray!): http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/hollinge ... ague%3dnba
Boston is 5th on offense and 1st on defense....Miami looks really, really good too, seeing as how their point differential is ~17. This next stretch is going to be killer.

Re: Some encouraging stats....
I have a lot of hope for this team. I say let them play and have fun. Some of my most enjoyable games was when I played with friends that were hustling and playing hard.
If the guys are hustling and enjoying each other then this could be a special year.

He's back. How goes it nano? How's the family and everything?
BTW, as if you weren't already signed up and had a jersey, I could have sold you one.

Am I the only one who is concerned that our leading rebounder is Grant Hill? I don't see that as something positive about our team, actually it says a lot (negatively) about the rest of the players.

It really depends on how you look at it. It could very well be the system? Where you as concerned when 'Trix was our leading rebounder? Sure 'Trix was younger, could jump out the gym and was our starting PF, but maybe nothing much has changed.

Sure I would like our big guys to be leading the team in rebounding, but Frye never will and Amar'e needs time to get back into bball shape. I have no doubt that after 20 games Amar'e will be our leading rebounder, maybe, hopefully, before then too.

Props to Kerrsed for the sig

aaaah.......Yes
I can't see how his effort and hustle to double-double is anything negative.(could it be the ol' " Lead by Example" trick ? ) It looks as if everyone is getting rebound hungry. Our guards, the bench .... even Stat.
Go piss on something else.....

During one of Amare's post game interviews he said that was the strategy, the bigs are to box out their man so the others can get the rebounds so it's no surprise that GHill is leading us in rebounds. Just about everything we do will be team oriented.

I am pleased by Frye's performance thus far, though 65% is not sustainable.
More importantly, as we've said its hard to use these 3 games as a measuring stick. Going forward, as we start facing more powerful teams, we cannot have Frye taking 12 shots while Amar'e takes 11. Especially if Amar'e is hitting a fair percentage which he is. Frye will be very useful for spacing out the lane but when the games are more serious and more of a grind, we need to be accustomed to dumping it in to Amar'e. I think ultimately we cannot consistently pick up big wins if Amar'e scores less than 20 per game.

Our next three opponents are undefeated

How awesome would it be if we won @MIA and @ORL? I'm just really afraid of what Wade/Beasley/J'Oneal will do to us for 48 minutes in MIA, Dwight/Jameer/Vince in ORL....and the list goes on and on when you go down our schedule.

Was about to say this in my own words

If Amare has 5 rebounds and Hill is averaging 12, I am fully content. That means both players are doing their jobs. We all know amare cant box out AND grab boards, best to do one thing at a time. Hopefully his footwork and positioning skills improve by the allstar break and maybe he can join hill in going for the rebounds more often.
