If you restart the draft with more teams offering players, then you have to restart the competition at this point.

Re: GM a Dynasty - Discussion Thread
I'm available and here frequently. How many active posters are taking part currently?
12 would be good to go forward with. Perhaps just remove the inactive teams from the contraction draft?

Yup I know, your one of the 12.
Plus we'd have to restart because with less posters, GM's change their plans and value their contraction picks even more. We'd have a short trading period then quickly start the draft.

Ok. I'm all for going in the direction that the majority are keen for. Either restarting the entire thing, or just the draft, I am a little unbiased however as I haven't made any moves yet.

Sorry we have 12 so unless Dwight gets someone else and we have 14 you'll have to be our 1st replacment GM, that is to say if we lose a GM at any point you'll be contacted and will replace him. If you still want to.

Re: GM a Dynasty - Discussion Thread
Ok
Everyone repost their original rosters. If you have made no trades, that's fine just make sure you have all the info you need.
Poop get your roster up.
Garmfey get your salary info up.
I can't repost my roster right now but I'll do it tonight. We should run
much more smoothly now.

Re: GM a Dynasty - Discussion Thread
May I suggest you restart the contraction draft to reflect the larger draft pool?
Also, the following players are available for trade:
Sabonis: big C with very good man D for the Shaq's of the world. His range and skill also makes him a tough cover for that same demographic. Looking for future assets either in the form of draft picks or young players.
Smith: lights out shooter and a great scorer at the SG slot. Looking for the same as before, salary relief welcome too.
Brian Grant: terrific rebounder and a great roleplayer. He's already expiring, so i'm looking for future assets here.
Really, everyone can be had, but the two main pieces are currently close to being dealt.

Roster reset. I haven't heard from any of the posters I emailed. When do you anticipate starting this thing up again?

Re: GM a Dynasty - Discussion Thread
Now. We are rolling with 12. As soon as all rosters are reset we start.

Re: GM a Dynasty - Discussion Thread
Why are we resetting rosters and undoing trades? All the trades are with teams that are staying. I understand redoing the contraction draft, but why are we canceling out the trades that have been made? Alot of negotiations and effort have been put into looking up all the info to majke the trades that have been aggreed on. dropping teams effects the draft and agree 100% that that should be restarted, but the trades that have happened should stay

If you take out teams and add a lot more players to the contraction draft, you are increasing the value of those contraction draft picks.
Therefore any trades involving contraction draft picks are affected as well, correct?

They can be immediately agreed upon again as long as there aren't any issues, but a contraction pick could hold drastically different value yet. Really, it could also effect some near future normal picks too.

Cellar and Dwight put it well. Dropping teams changes the value of picks.

Re: GM a Dynasty - Discussion Thread
Also I agree Sam a lot of work goes into making trades, and we both don't benefit from this but fair is fair. I'm trying to keep this on a level playing field.

Dallas has agreed to honor his trade, If Orlando does as well, I will not need to redue may roster, so all is well.

Re: GM a Dynasty - Discussion Thread
Sorry guys been busy.
Game is now reset. 5 day trading period followed by the draft on Sunday at 12PM. 5 hour clock. Send in lists or you will be skipped.
Soft cap at 70 mill. This means if you have less then 70 you can offer contracts to FA's. Hard cap at 90 mil. Remember this is a 12 team league so a 2nd option on a championship team may be a 5th option in this game. Plan accordingly. I will bring in an independent judge btw no voting takes to long. Not set in stone though if anyone has a problem with it, it is up for debate.
We have a great group of GM's, very active should be good.
Lets get this started guys.
