Great game. Our defense was awesome and so was our bench. Wallace, House, Daniels, and Williams were all very good. Pierce played great. KG looks like he has lost a step. His hops arent there anymore. Hopefully it's just conditioning.

Crushed 'em...and the joking we did about the 76ers not even scoring half of what they the previous game turned out to not be a joke!

It's still 17 to 11!!!!

Why do you have to couch praise of Hudson with criticism of Rondo? Hudson looks to be a smart and solid player. I think he'd be nice as a fill-in if Rondo ever got hurt.
Both guys are good - its just Rondo got overpaid riding some coattails.. Your not going to hear the end of it for 5 years, IMHO.

Pete, you really think that? Whose coattails did Rondo ride on when he singlehandedly demolished Chicago in the playoffs last year?

It's pretty laughable that you are trying to act like Lester Hudson is even on the same planet as Rondo as a basketball player. Hudson can't even beat out Eddie House for a rotation spot and if he ever does, we'll have gotten pretty lucky to have found a rotational player with the 3rd to last pick of the draft or whatever it is. More likely, Hudson will be saying a prayer that he remains in the league in 3 years like Gabe Pruitt.GuyClinch wrote:Both guys are good - its just Rondo got overpaid riding some coattails.. BTW, our stud young talent Lester is actually 2 years older than Rondo. Warming the benches at age 25 while Rondo's already won a title, averaged a triple double in a playoff series (or did he fall just short? I forget. Know he fell just short on the post-season as a whole) and been voted the best perimeter defender in the NBA by the GM's.
Hudson scored 6 points in garbage time against the 76ers when we were up 30 and they had given up playing any D (we scored 36 in the 4th). He's going to need to show A LOT more than that to show he is an NBA rotational player, let alone a "good" NBA player or close to Rondo. Shelden Williams would be a Hall of Famer if he was allowed to play in garbage time all the time.

Season observations so far.....
Ray cannot dribble around a statue and cannot lose his defender even with 3 picks set for him. Completely afraid of contact. His slowness and inability to fit into a team offense is helping to cause slow starts to every game. I'd love to see Daniels start and Ray play with the second team.
Giddens is useless. Looks like a small AC Earl.
Wallace will be this year's Walton.
Sheldon is a very good pickup.
By the time Perk is 30, he will have an offensive game.
Ray will be traded midseason. His expiring contract is too valuable to waste.

You were OK until the epic fail at the end. We'll be extending him, I have no doubt...

Ray - 19.8 mil
Scal - 3.4 mil
TA - 2.5 mil
25.7 mil in expirings.......We could still possibly resign Ray if he gets bought out by the receiving team.

I don't see Ray traded unless we get him back. That said, finding a trade like that seems hard so I don't think the odds are good of a Ray trade. I do think some sort of deal could be worked out in the summer where MD signs on the cheap and we let him start and bring Ray off the bench.

AGHG...short sighted....whats wrong with Ray eventually going to the bench and becoming what eddie house is for the C's. He takes a pay cut to stay and play for championships as the designated gunner off the bench.
Predictions...both Ray and PP take cuts next year. We add a stud in free agency.

Re: Celtics @ 76ers - Tuesday, November 3rd
The hard question is what will Ray be worth next year and what will Ray think he's worth. Right now his importance is lower than Rondo, KG, PP, Wallace and possibly Perk. Will he even be worth MLE type money (just talking dollar amount).
I still feel his greatest worth is his expiring - almost 20 mil in a horrible economy.

Yeah. Lots of teams will want to pick up that contract for half a season
