Cardinals @ Bears

Post#1 » by SportsWorld » Wed Nov 4, 2009 10:05 pm

Date: November 8th, 2009
Time: Noon Central
TV: FOX
Announcers: Joe Buck, Troy Aikman
Radio: WBBM AM 780

We're probably going to get killed. We don't have the secondary to stop Larry Fitzgerald, Anquan Boldin, and Steve Breaston. We don't have the offensive line to stop one of the best defensive lines in the NFL.

Bears 17

The Cardinals are so Jekyll and Hyde it's unreal how they don't have whiplash. This past Sunday they looked dreadful.

Look out.

Ugh. Do we have to ?

Likely I'll DVR this so I can watch the ugliness later in 45 minutes versus 3hrs and 15 mins in real time.

And I demand cool+funny graphics on the OP, SportsWorld !

I'm going to this game. Amazing seats (section 133) and good weather (60 degrees). unfortunately, that will be the only two nice variables to this game. i think this game will be a Bengal-like performance -- albeit probably slightly less awful.

Cardinals 38, Bears 13.

Warner 29-36 for 366 yards and 4 TD's
Fitzgerald 12 catches for 219 yards and 3 TD's

Cutler 25-42 for 201 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT
Forte 15 carries for 36 yards
Wolfe 7 carries for 6 yards
Olsen 1 catch, 4 yards
Hester 9 catches for 101 yards, 1 TD

Typical Bears '09 game. Big game for Hester. Horrendous outing from the OL. Cutler pressured every play. Not a single hole for a running backs. Defense gets obliterated by Warner/Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald goes Steve Smith '05 playoffs against us -- running wild. Game is over by the end of the 1st quarter after Cardinals lead 21-0. Game lost by offensive and defensive lines. I stuff my face with $100 worth of hot dogs as consolation...

A few more losses and you can just take the sig & avatar. I already left the Bulls forum. Soon I'll have no use for them until free agency starts!

Can we get the GM fired two weeks in a row?

Go Bears?

Hey, let's follow up with another convincing performance.
A plea for post scoring is a plausible Bulls plan, but plainly isn't a priority. In response to a post player's dismay about his lack of points in the paint, Paxson said.... "I'm not nearly as concerned about the offensive stuff as he is."

What is it with all the overrating of the Cardinals here? They're a team that's a lot like the Bears: inconsistent, capable of looking good at times (like the Bears did against the Steelers, far better team than Arizona BTW) but also capable of some stinkers. The Cardinals lost in pretty convincing fashion last week at home to Carolina.

I think this one will be close.

I think this is a battle of which team makes fewer mistakes, not just on offense either. Cards play a very high risk/reward style of defense, and the Bears will have their hands full with Darnell Dockett and Calais Campbell up front. On the flip side, I think the Bears DEs will have a lot of success getting near Warner.

I picked the Bears but I bet if they played 100 times it would be 50/50. I wish I could attend this one because I've never seen Warner play in person and I really like and respect him, but heading to Notre Dame on Sat. and that's enough of large crowds for me for a weekend.
It's not whether you win or lose, it's how good you look playing the game

Remember the last time we played a Jeckyll and Hyde team. The Cincinnati Bengals?

Granted that parallel isn't 100%, if the Bears don't come out strong we could lose or lose(BIG) to the Cards. They've been much better on the road than at home.

This game is tough to predict.

It'll be interesting to see how the game plays out since we played them in "That" game. Must still sting for some of their players

The Bears have also been a lot better at home than the road. Bengals game is pretty irrelevant as far as I'm concerned (it was rather obvious the team didn't bother to show up for that game; the game isn't too indicative of anything).

INJURY IMPACT:

—WR Anquan Boldin missed two practices this week, was limited Friday and likely will be a game-time decision on Sunday. Boldin has a sprained ankle that might not improve until he takes time off. Boldin doesn't seem keen on sitting out, however. He's listed as questionable.

Hopefully this will have a positive impact for us with Boldin still hobbled by an injury.

So a team that doesn't bother showing on Sunday isn't indicative of anything to you ?

It tells me they lack pride, lack preparedness and professionalism, are poorly coached, and perhaps that they just don't even care.

On the other hand if they DID show up and still got it handed to them like that, I'd just say they just plain stink.

I'm not sure which is worse.

But the game was not irrelevant to me at all. It told me plenty.

There's only 16 games in an NFL season.

Its okay for your team to take a few games off in an NBA season, in a hockey season, and especially during a Baseball season.

On the other hand each and every NFL game counts if you are in contention(And yes despite the all of the Bears's problems they are still a "contending" team as of now).

Them not being prepared for the Bengals game says a lot about their professionalism as Chewie said. Its just not this game that the Bears have looked unprepared for. The receivers didn't know where they were running in week 1(Cutler throws 4 INT's). Seneca Wallace has a career throwing day @ Qwest Field. It took Detroit putting up 21 points on us in the 1st half to wake up. The Bears were lost when Atlanta went no huddle. I don't expect a perfect game, so things like Wallace throwing all over us can be excused. But WR's should know where they are running. Detroit should not put up 21 points in a half. The only game IMO they've looked solid in all phases was Pittsburgh, and minus Seneca Wallace against the Seahawks.

Need I mention last week where the Bears won a game that was closer than what the scoreboard said. We couldn't score a TD in 3 redzone trips against probably the worst team in the NFL.

It just hasn't been the Cincinnati game. They've looked unprepared in some phase just about all year long. The Cincinnati game was our unpreparedness finally nipping us in the ass when we played a talented team. We could get away with letting the Lions put up 21 in a half or suckign in the redzone against the Browns because both of those teams suck. Not the Bengals.

Boldin is out. It'll be Fitz/Breaston/Urban/Doucet, I'm assuming.

Yup he's out.

I think I'd rather have had a slightly hobbled Boldin in the game than a healthy Breaston, but we'll see what happens.

I'd rather have him playing. Now if we win we STILL won't know what we have here.
