The two CHI assets I like here are the 2010 pick and James Johnson. I just don't trust Deng. I'd much rather go for Crash (if he is moved) or wait for free agency and hopefully get a shot at someome Joe Johnson.

Kahn loves James Johnson. Considered him top-5 talent this last draft. The draft pick is nice also.

Someone told u Deng is closer to 29 than 25? Tell us more.

Guys I dont mean to be a dick.. I came in here to look at what was being said after the Celtics game and saw this thread.

That deal is ridiculous.. in a bad way, and you guys seem to think we should throw something more in to sweaten it..

We get absolutely raped and would not get near the playoffs after that.. Luol Deng despite his injuries is still a very good player and very valuable to the team, especially now that Gordon is gone. You want to give up our best player (2nd once Rose sorts himself out).. our starting PF, our promising rookie.. AND our first rounder (which would likely be a high pick if this deal happened) for Ryan Gomes and trash.

We may be looking to 2010 but we also are trying to get back to the playoffs and maybe make the 2nd round. We're going to have plenty of capspace as it is so there is no need to basically write off the season with this trade.

Oh and, you guys got shafted by the refs last night.

The whole point from a Bulls standpoint was to get you enough cap space to try to sign Wade, LeBron, Johnson or Bosh. As Worm Guts points out however, you probably don't need to make a big trade if Salmons opts out, so maybe you are better off waiting to see what happens.
As you can see from some of the TWolves fans' responses, there isn't a whole lot of excitement about taking on Luol Deng's contract. I will admit that my OP was too far tilted the Wolves way, but I was under the impression Chicago would like to get freed from his contract - regardless of whether he is a good player and has value to a team.

We've seen enough of Deng to know that his long contract is way too risky to have positive value.

$14.275 mil in 2013-14? Seriously?

You can call Deng your "best player" after five good games, but that doesn't overrule the damage his contract does for the next five seasons.

That also happens to be the Wolves response to Chicago style pizza.

Deng messes up the cap flex with a terrible contract. No part of any deal with Deng period.
