...our offense was nearly the worst in the league last year, and then we traded the only player who shot over .500. I'm not sure why I'd expect improvement.

Well, we could start making open shots sooner or later. Not saying we will have them more than now, but simply making them would be improvement.

No doubt. Unless I'm mistaken coolio was saying we'd improve from what we're doing now...not from last year. Realistically I don't see how anyone can disagree with that unless you think DJ will shoot 18% from 3 or Crash 33% from the field for the season.

Exactly. I don't think there is any doubt our offense picks it up to respectable level once January hits (but most likely sooner than that). But if our defense stays the same, thats what matters. If we continue to stay 2nd in the NBA behind the Celtics then we are pretty much a lock for a +.500 record. Having an elite defense goes a long way into determining your record, look into those stats.

Well Crash FG% IMHO relates to refs considerably. With the way he is attacking, it is often up to refs whether it wil lbe a missed shot or foul. PArt of his FGA will be always like that.

Our defense is also not going to play at the same level as it is now... because no defense ever does as well as ours has so far. It will regress slightly, just as the offense will improve slightly. But I think it's eminently possible that we remain the worst offensive team in the NBA, which means we would need to be THE BEST defensive team in the NBA in order to even be an average team.
