oakley wants to coach

Post#1 » by fatlever » Thu Nov 5, 2009 4:48 pm

we all know how jordan likes to surround himself with his buddies. oakley is jordan's right hand man.

if oakley wanted to coach, i could see mj giving him a start as one of our assistants.

i would have loved for oakley to have been on the staff when okafor first came in the league. i think oakley could have really helped okafor in a few areas (assuming oakley can actually relate to players).

Oakley is the most feared enforcer I remember from childhood. I think he could only help. What does LaSalle Thompson do that Charlie couldn't?

I never understood why he hasn't been helping us before now. Guess in the past it's been a full time job guarding MJ's golf clubs?

Somehow I think that one of Jordan's buddies might match his (current) work ethic. LaSalle Thompson at least seems to show up for work everyday....

I think that'd be a low risk move. Wondering who he could help on opur roster. Lexy's a bit laid back attitude? Gana actually doing anything? Tyson? Nazr is too old for mentoring I guess.

okafor would have been perfect to be coached by oakley. none of our bigs really fit that oakley mold now. man, i really wanted to see okafor be that type of pf... a mean SOB who would stab you in the neck for a rebound and then take you out to 18 feet and hit jumpers on you all day long. i honestly thought mek coulda been that type of player eventually, but i was wrong.

i kinda wish we had dejaun blair here so oakley could mentor him. i think blair is gonna be perfect for what we need. we should have taken blair over henderson, bad knees and all.
