I don't like tanking... I like a scrappy culture who is willing to try to win every game. I think we do need a shakeup, but I think tanking hurts free agency and creates long lasting lockeroom issues. I'll pass on the Clippers rebuilding scheme.

Well, they got their long-time starting quarterback injured and replaced him with a recent sixth-round pick who would soon develop good chemistry with Deion Branch. Then they released Lawyer Milloy.

I don't like "tanking" either. And I certainly don't mean it intentionally. I've just realized that we're going nowhere fast now. This is especially disconcerting to me since I believed we were legitimate division title contenders going into this season. And with a little bit of luck...who knows.

But then this season happened. I've since come to realize that a major shakeup is in order. Unfortunately, such major shakeups are oftentimes in need of a catalyst. Another dreadful season might be such a catalyst. We need new GMship, possibly a new coach if great available talent is there to be had, and SOLID high draft picks to begin turning it around. That's why I'm willing to endure a hideous demise this season.

Fortunately for us, we're not the Detroit Lions. We DO have some real talent on both sides of the football. Curry, Hill, Tatupu, Trufant, Mebane, Locklear, Househankjhzndhsuhah, Carlson, Unger...we're not THAT far away from reemerging as division contenders if we're smart at the talent shopping mart the next two off seasons, and we have decent picks to work with.

That's where I'm at. That's all.

Mike Sando: Seattle has adopted more zone concepts in its running game. How do these players project?

Steve Muench: Williams would fit very well in a zone scheme. Okung would also be a great fit for the zone scheme. What Okung did with Brandon Pettigrew last year, in 2008 -- they were excellent together at sealing the edge. You see the same thing with USC's Charles Brown and their tight end, Anthony McCoy. They do a good job of passing off guys from one another, keeping their heads up and reacting to the defense

Well I think we're doing a fine job catching up with the Raiders, Chiefs, and Titans of the world. Good for them. Now we have an easy schedule though and might win games, which I was down for a few weeks ago. Now at 3-7 we have 4 teams with worse records and we could score big in the draft with?

oh crap you mean it's a weak draft and tanking may not even help much? Yup. Although, "weak" drafts produce good players too.

At this point I axe Knapp, Ruskell, and Bradley.

Solari has earned his stripes imo and should be retained. Mora will get more burn lest the organization look hasty ala Redskins..
