Luis Scola Was Never Euroleague MVP

Post#1 » by Kill_Bill_Pana » Thu Nov 5, 2009 10:25 pm

I like to follow Rockets because of Scola. I notice in Rocket fan site the clutchfans and also in game of Rockets announcers it is say "Scola was 3 time MVP of Euroleague". I hear announcers says it and I see fans says it in their forum. I must ask why is this? Where this info comes from?

I am Euroleague fan for many years and Scola was never MVP of Euroleague season or playoffs. So why is he called this when it is not true? I just wonder he is one of my favorite player for many years but I have to tell true thing. He was never MVP in Euroleague if he has told Rockets this then he has lied.

1- never heard that anyone said that
2- although he wasn't euroleague MVP 3 times, he was once. That, or you'd contact Euroleague.net because they've it all wrong
3- Scola won many MVP awards, so maybe people translates automatically euro-->euroleague
4- Maybe Scola thought "I'll tell Houston Rockets people I was 3 times Euroleague MVP, there's no way they'll ever find out I'm lying"
5- It's all a conspiracy. You discovered it. Now we must kill you. Nothing personal.

No he was not. Manu was MVP of Olympics and Scola of the final game. Also this is not a real award. It does not exist. It is no such actual award. Just a statement but there is actually not even a thing as Olympics MVP. So it is not really any logic to count something that does not actually exist other than just an unofficial honor.

Pretty sure he was Spanish League MVP twice and FIBA Americas Championship MVP twice.

He also has the most amazing hair ever, so he's MVP of my dreams. Yes, I have a man crush on him.

Once again, Luis Scola was NEVER the Euroleague MVP or season or playoffs. I am very much wondering why then is he called "Euroleague MVP" in US? Can you explain this? I am curious about this.

Perhaps from confusing FIBA America MVPs,Spanish League MVPs and/or Euroleague First/Second Teams.

From Wikipedia:
Awards
2000 Spanish League Rookie of the Year
2000 FIBA Americas Under-20 Championship MVP
2004 Olympic Final MVP
2005 Spanish Supercup MVP
2x Spanish League MVP 2005, 2007
All-Euroleague Second Team 2005
2x All-Euroleague First Team 2006, 2007
2x FIBA Americas Championship MVP 2007, 2009
2008 NBA All-Rookie First Team

My girlfriend nicknamed him "The Product" last year because of that luxurious hair. Sitting and watching a game with her and her sister that's all they talk about. I've learned a lot about hair care products since then just listening to them talk about Scola's mane...stuff that I wish that I knew back when I had long hair.
