Who was better in their prime?

Barry Larkin or Derek Jeter

I would say Jeter had the single best season out of the two in 1999, but that really doesn't mean much as one season doesn't tell you much.

I would say on rate basis throughout their prime Larkin was better, but that doesn't really mean much as Jeter always played more.

So whatever that means to you.

I'm pretty much with bigboy on this one. I will say Larkin's 96 season was very close to Jeter's 99 year tho.

Prime only, I'll go with Larkin by a whisker. I think that, when both are at their best, Larkin's a lot better with the glove and close enough with the bat to give him the edge.

Career, it's Jeter by a mile.
