I think there is more give and take than this. LAL can't sign him to a FA contract without Cleveland being involved. If they don't like what they'd be getting in return, couldn't Cleveland just refuse to sign him to a FA deal?

Sure, but the only reason they'd agree to trade Lebron is to get something instead of nothing. In this situation, Lebron is saying S&T and trade me to LA or I'll just sign with New York or Chicago and you'll get nothing.
A Minnesota sign and trade offer means nothing unless Lebron actually want to play here.

And then Cleveland asks, wouldn't you prefer to doing a S & T with a team like MN rather than sign a FA deal with a crappy team like NY? I see your point, but there might be a little more give-n-take involved.

That still requires Lebron to like Minnesota more than any other team with cap space. If he did want come here, we could probably open up max cap space and avoid the entire S&T bit altogether.

The whole LeBron to Minnesota talk drives me nuts. It's never going to happen, no sense in even considering it. It's like sitting around and talking about being able to fly. "What if I could just flap my arms and fly to Houston?" Yeah, well what if? It's not possible, not going to happen, and non-sensical. So what's the point?

1. I didn't say no FA would come to MIN. You have a nice young core in Love, Jeff, Flynn and assets in Rubio and your pick this year. I said NO TOP FLIGHT FA would go to MIN. As in Wade, Lebron, or Bosh. I don't know anyone that would disagree with that.

2. I didn't say you lost the Love Mayo trade. IMO Love is a poor fit next to AL. Mayo would be the perfect compliment to Flynn. Obviously McHale is no longer here and no one knew at the time of the trade that you would get Flynn and Rubio in the next draft. I really like Flynn, May, AL trio. I don't know that you can trade Love for a SG of Mayo's quality however. Everyone talks about how tough is it to get a big man but if you look at the last 5 drafts SG's are the hardest to come by.

3. If I was MIN I would not trade Love for Tyrus and Salmons either most likely because of salary reasons. I do think Tyrus would be blow up next to Al though and Salmons would really help. If I was MIN I would trade Love for Deng and Tyrus. Deng is going to put up 18 and 9 by the end of the year and he would be a great player to have next to AL and Flynn and Tyrus next to AL at PF. I understand the salary concerns but IMO it will be real tough for MIN to get a player better than Deng in FA. Deng is 24, Thomas is 23. Flynn, Deng, Thomas, AL is better IMO than Flynn, Love, AL. Just IMO. I do believe however, the Paxson would never trade Thomas and Deng for Love. Maybe Noah and Salmons for AL but Deng and Thomas for Love.

If I left a negative vibe I apologize. In no way am I trying to troll other teams boards. I really like the Wolves, watch them on LP all the time, and really hope they continue to improve because I really like Flynn and have a mancrush on Love as he would be the perfect PF for the Bulls.

I agree. It makes no sense. I grew up in Houston and it really isn't worth flying to. Portland, Seattle, maybe San Francisco, I could see. Actually if I could flap my arms and fly somewhere, I'd probably head up to Alaska. That would be cool. Maybe not this time of year but in the summer. But you definitley don't want to fly to Houston in the summer.

1. Wade's the only one with a ring in that trio.
2. Mayo's nothing special. He's Jamal Crawford.
3. Good lord that made no sense from you. Deng has a worse contract than Salmons, yet you'd choose him over Salmons for salary reasons?

That's not what you said.

You will have to trade some young talent away for young vets.

You basically echoed what every other outsider has come in and implied. That no one wants to play in Minnesota, and the only way to get talent is to trade talent. The Wolves are going to have money for the first time in a long time. We have options and we don't have to trade our guys away.

In general, i dont think people here are seriously thinking LBJ and company might happen...and if a talented #2 like Jefferson, a good young core(a potential Rubio), another high draft pick this year coming, and a max deal were enough...than we would have a shot. But I understand there are other factors.

There are just too many question marks with Deng and Thomas. The wolves have a past of committing a lot of money and years to guys who cant perform throughout the whole contract. So I think a lot of us wolves posters are hesitant to committ $20 million a year combined to both of these guys. Especially if it means trading Love, who is under favorable deal for the next few years and fits out offense better than Thomas would. But you are right, him and Al arent the best combination together.

"I've thought about playing everywhere,” James said prior to Thursday’s loss against Chicago. “At one point in my life, I've thought about playing every team in the NBA."

LeBron is probably thinking about the Wolves right now. I bet you are one of those guys with low self esteem that could be dating the hottest woman in the world if you gave yourself a little credit. :D

You're right, that it is very remote, and not worth giving much discussion towards, but there is a small chance.

As Lloyd Christmas once said, "So you're saying theres a chance"
