Game 6: Clippers(1-4) @ Golden State Warriors(1-2)

Post#1 » by Det the Threat » Thu Nov 5, 2009 7:43 pm

After finally winning their first game of the season against the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Clippers are heading north as they try to make it two in a row. They'll face a young and upcoming Warriors team that also just won it's first game of the season and want's to make it two in a row as well.

The Clippers will be without Blake Griffin for this one.

Why did Baron shave it, I liked what he was doing. I hope that Baron will bring extra motivation since he's playing against his former team. I would love nothing more than for us to beat a division foe. I can't wait to see the result tomorrow night.

I'm on pins an needles right now. This is definitely another must win game. It's division rival, our first road game victory, and just another step toward building the team's confidence. I like the pictures of the benches BTW. Made me laugh.

Go Clippers!

Starting line-up's and benches are a little different.

Clippers Rotation:
PG - B. Davis/S. Telfair
SG - E.Gordon/K. Rush/R. Davis
SF - R. Butler/A. Thornton/S. Novak
PF - M. Camby/C. Smith
C - C. Kaman/D. Jordan

Warriors Rotation:
PG - S. Curry/C.J. Watson
SG - M. Ellis/A. Morrow
SF - K. Azubuike/C. Maggette/D. George
PF - S. Jackson/R. Turiaf/A. Randolph
C - A. Biendris/M. Moore

That's probably the active 12 players on both sides. This should be a win but it is on the road and the Warriors will push the tempo. The Clippers may have to do a lot of small ball with B-Diddy, EJ, Butler, Thornton & Camby as Kaman is more of a half-court type of ball-player. I expect an 8 man rotation on both sides with the our starters and Telfair/Thornton/Smith off the bench against the Warriors starters and Morrow/Maggette/Moore (Who's been getting playing time over Turiaf.) coming off the bench for Golden State. I agree also that this is a must-win as it'll secure our first road victory then get the Grizzlies at home the next night to possibly head into the next game 3-4. Big back-to-back coming up. 8-)

Thornton (under the weather), Biedrins (sore back) and Turiaf (knee sprain) are all questionable. I'd like to see us use our size advantage and pound it in the paint, but it would probably be silly of me to think that we'll do that. Small ball ftw. It's been a long week with the 3 days off, so I'm excited to see this game.

Damn, it's been to long! It's too early in the season to be having big layoffs like this. I liked it better when we were playing every day :D

I agree with DangerCurtis, I think this is an important game to win. We can't have the wind taken out of our sails after beating Minnesota- we GOTTA string some wins together, or it's gonna be just like last season.

And WTF Baron? I'm concerned about Boom shaving his beard. I think he's been playing well so far, and from what I understand, his beard is like Sampson's hair. You can't cut it and get the same result outta the guy. Sure, he looked like a dirty hobo, but we all have to make sacrifices in life. Grow it back Boom!

Baron Davis (Bruised tailbone) is day-to-day.

Baron needs to stop falling on his ass.

This game worries me. My gut tells me we'll commit another 20+ turnovers and get blown out playing small ball. Hopefully we punish them(KAMAN) inside since their bigs are questionable for tonights game.

Looks like he got a trim, not a shave.

Why do the Warriors always start a SF at PF, we better bring it tonight.

I have a feeling Anthony Morrow will break the 12 three pointers made in a single game tonight.

But like said already, all we have to do is punish them inside with Kaman and hopefully Rhino as well. Gordon better pick on Curry as well.

Cause they play small ball aka Don nelson offense, they practically played that way all of last season.

Their bigs are also questionable for tonights game due to injury hence the SF at PF.

The warriors are averaging 107 points per game. We need to keep them under 100 and make sure Morrow and aza don't have big games.

Rebounding and turnovers will be key!

Cippers are starting their actual line-up with Butler at the 3. I'm surprised but pleasantly surprised.

Yeah I thought that quote with Dunleavy regarding Al's slow start meant he would go back to him soon again, but it's nice to see Butler get the start. We're 1-0 with him in the starting lineup so no reason to change just yet. :)
