Out of Town Scoreboard/Western Conference Positioning

Post#1 » by MHZ » Thu Nov 5, 2009 7:41 pm

Not sure what the interest level will be in this, but here's a thread to discuss non-Nuggets happenings. If the Nuggets are going to be competing in the Western Conference, there will no doubt be a lot of scoreboard watching.

Two games tonight:

Chicago @ Cleveland
San Antonio @ Utah

Should be interesting to see San Antonio play at Utah. Utah has been horrible thus far, but they're generally pretty dependable at home. San Antonio goes to Portland tomorrow. Should be a good way to judge our inter-division rivals and a potential conference rival in San Antonio. I can't imagine SA winning on the second night of a b2b, at Portland, but we'll see.

At least Artest kept his cool... kind of...

"I wanted to (choke Ariza) because he hit me with the elbow," Artest said. "But then I thought about David Stern, and I thought I wasn't going to do this. I got hit with three or four elbows. It's just not fair. I don't want to fight."

I used to enjoy rooting for Artest when he was on the underdogs going after Kobe, but it's just lame now on the Lakers, going after Trevor Ariza (who shot like 5-500 last night).

Where'd you see 196? I haven't seen a single book with 196. It opened at 199, and has moved down a tick, but I haven't seen anything as low as 196.

at 11:47 this morning it was at 195.5 at bookmaker :)

http://www.sbrodds.com/#/odds/nba/game/pointspread.html
looks like most books had it around 196 for a little bit earlier today.

i actually got it at 196.5, but bought 1/2 point because i hate losing by 1/2 point more than anything in the world (even ac).

He is not the Arizalike type of BORN KILLER. I really did not like the move LAL did last summer.

On his comments, Still remember him talking about one of his street baller friend was stabbed through the heart with broken chair leg just because of the intensity of the game & explained how tough he used to play streetball. I do not really like the guy.

Bulls just got jobbed the refs against the Cavs, but what else is new.

Luckily for them, LeChoke is the least clutch player ever.

Good idea for a thread...jazz are leading the spurs at the half. Would have been nice if the lakers could have lost one of the 2 OT games this week.

I haven't gotten a green ticket yet for NBA, doing well with NFL bets though. Parlay looks good corona but the spurs are down at the half....

^^ 3 straight bets. already won chicago, and the over looks solid, but you never know. i think san antonio picks it up and wins this in the 4th too.

Nothing wrong with losing one of the bets. All you can ask for is winning more than you lose.

I love SportsCenter acting like LeBron got fouled at the end of that game. Clearly didn't, ball was clearly off of him. Shockingly, the refs were dead on on that play.

Spurs lose. I thought these guys were supposed to be on the Lakers level, both of which were clearly a notch above Denver?

Are you doubting the experts? Everybody knows that the Nuggets did nothing this last summer and so they are worse, while adding players even when they don't fit will make all the difference in the world as Portland, San Antonio, Cleveland, Orlando, and Boston all clearly leave Denver as the 6th or 7th best team in the league.

Also how dare you insinuate that ESPN is on Lebron's jock, everybody knows he is the greatest ever.

I must say that it was nice seeing the refs actually get a call right when it comes to Lebron.

Like the traveling call last year, it will never happen again. Those refs won't be able to ref a pick-up game in the Congo after David Stern gets through with them for not giving LeBron the call.

That was a great no call last night and I loved seeing Chicago beat the Cavs. I love seeing teams, like Chicago that lost a big name, yet still fight and win a tough game on the road. I liked the refs holding their whistles as well. Lebron did get hit a little but he had already lost the ball out of bounds, was huge.

It's hard to imagine San Antonio being able to do anything tonight in Portland. They looked bad in Utah, and they're on a second of a back to back. Portland is at -4 right now, I think they cover that.

LeBron and Shaq just looked trbl in this game from the get go. Shaq's throwing up a lot of hooks that aren't hitting the mark and LeBron is launching shots that are way off.....the only way these two are going to coexist is if they work in tandem and use drives that end in layups/dunks.

i've thought about this one a bit. might throw a little money on it later.

almost seems too easy though. and those are the plays that will always burn you.
'oh, portlands a good team. especially at home. on a friday night. san antonio's historically been a bad b2b team, portland should cover -4 no problem'

and then san antonio comes to play, and the blazers play flat....and the books rake in 60%+ of the publics money.

look at denver tonight. 77% of the money's on us, and the line essentially hasn't moved.
without a really focused game from the whole team...we probably lose....just because vegas doesn't lose big to the public that often.

I'm confident in Portland. I see them hammering SA on the boards (like they did Denver), but not shooting as poorly, plus SA's big names played pretty decent minutes last night.

As for the Nuggets, I'm pretty confident in them tonight. It's tomorrow night at ATL, where both teams will be on the second of b2b's, that I'd almost guarantee a Nuggets loss. Do they ever win in Atlanta? I stopped betting, though, because I didn't win enough. Clearly, I'm not the best person to ask.

Return to Denver Nuggets
