0-8 Hooray!

Post#1 » by netsforever » Sat Nov 7, 2009 5:42 pm

I'm really glad that the Nets are off to this awful start.

The more games we lose early on, the better chance we have of getting a top lottery pick.

Lopez + CDR + TWill + Harris + a top 5 pick + some free agents, and this team could be a title contender.

I have to think that we'll improve as the year goes on... healthwise and on the court... there's obviously some talent here, and I don't think the Nets are as bad as they've shown in the early going... 0-6, but arguably our best player has missed 4 games....

but I'm optimistic about the future, even if this season is a disaster.

and that's more than you could have said last year, or the year before...

The thing is, as cliche as it sounds, you have to lose with a purpose, like OKC did last year.
They were competitive after about the 1st 25 games and showed a lot of heart and a serious, marked improvement most of the year. They were so close they could taste it and therefore that is translating to more success and improvement this year.
If not, you become like a Clippers or Grizzlies team, that constantly gets blown out and picks up numerous bad habits, forming a habitual loser.

We're not really this bad. Harris has played like 2 games. 4 of our starting 5 are out. I look for the positives now. Lopez has played well despite being the focal point of the D facing constant double teams. Yi was rebounding very well before getting hurt. T. Will has been a stat stuffer but he's just a rookie. I mean we have a career backup starting at the point. Lee's shot has been off (now he's hurt) so T.Will is the starting SG now and Hassel probably gets the nod at the 3. Najara is our starting PF I mean come on really.

Alston
T.Will
Hassell
Najara
Lopez

Teams are just doubling Lopez and nobody else is stepping up. Our starters are 3 career backups, a rookie, and a 2nd year Center. This team can't beat anyone right now. We are only dressing 8 players tonight against the Celts (which is the league minimum). We're a twisted ankle away from a D leaguer.

Once we're healthy again we'll win some games. It's all about developing Lopez, CDR, T.Will, Lee and Yi. We know what Harris brings. Get those young guys hands on experience and we will benefit in the future.

And it should be noted when Harris played he was never healthy...

Nets forward Chris Douglas-Roberts, who has been sidelined with flu-like symptoms, has tested positive for the H1N1 virus, according to Nets President Rod Thorn.

Douglas-Roberts has been treated accordingly for the illness and the Nets have followed all precautionary measures as mandated by NBA guidelines.

i totally feel the need to lose with a purpose.

and you're right - without some sort of improvement as the year goes on, you are risking developing a losing culture...

we'll probably end up with between 25-35 wins, there's certainly talent here - just a lot of injuries so far...

Um... The Nets next game is against the Sixers at home on the 11th. That's definitely a possible win...

He's supposedly day to day, so it's possible.

Re: 0-8 Hooooray!!! CORRECTED

5 more games to lose. Then Frank needs to go. He started his career with a 13-0 it is only fit to fire him 0-13.
