Well, after 8 weeks we have a Top 25 that may look disjointed, but shows the true players in this season's Title chase.

- Ohio State remains at #1
- Boston College becomes the new #2 after USF's loss to Rutgers
- Due to that loss, USF drops from #2 to #11
- LSU rises to #3 after a squeaker vs. Auburn
- Oklahoma stays at #4 after an unimpressive win vs. a bad Iowa State team
- Oregon waddles up to #5 after beating down the Huskies
- West Virginia feels a bit redeemed after USF's loss and jumps to #6
- Arizona State, the unseen undefeated team in football, jumps to #7
- And, ASU added an Elway this bye weekend
- VaTech rises to #8 before their huge ACC matchup vs. BC on Thursday
- USC and Florida are tied at #9, after USC blanks ND and UF survives Kentucky

Other observations on the Top 25:

- Biggest Loser - USF (from 2 to 11) and South Carolina (from 6 to 15)
- Biggest Gainer - Michigan (from 24 to 19) and Florida (from 14 to 9)
- Four additions to the Top 25 - Rutgers, Penn State, Alabama and Virginia

That VT/BC game this Thursday is going to have a lot to do with the final standings. Of course Virginia plays VT and if they win that, then BC in the ACC title game. But knowing Al Groh and the Hoos, they're drop at least one game (probably all 3) to NCSU, WF, or Miami beforehand.

LSU is in great shape as long as they win out.

I wonder how far Ohio State would fall at the end if their only loss was to Michigan, a team that could have the nation's longest winning streak headed into that game. Don't laugh--only the remaining undefeateds and UVA have longer streaks going right now. And there's almost no way ASU, Kansas, or BC win out.

Glad USF didn't luck themselves into the National Championship game. Now if we can just get rid of Boston College. Still don't think Ohio State deserves the #1 ranking, but they'll be able to prove themselves throughout the rest of the year if they truly deserve it.

its going to be OSU vs. OU in the NC. although i am starting to think michigan will kick our ass to finish the lloyd carr era with a high note but henne vs. OSU defense is pretty bad matchup for michigan offense. possible USC vs. Michigan matchup would be crazy for the rose bowl though- teams that suffered two biggest upsets in CFB history.
