Re: the Holgrem lil chuckie bandwagon
Holmgren as GM? No way. He was horrible in that role in Seattle and was relieved of those duties. As a coach, yes. But I'd rather have Cowher. And although Holmgren, Gruden, Cowher, Shanahan and Dungy have all won Super Bowls, no coach has won one with two teams.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Cowher or Shanahan for me, another coach I love whos out there as well is Brian Billick, I'd be just as ecstactic if we hired him as well.

You've got to hire the GM first. And let the GM get his own guy at coach.

Absolutely. That's why TT has to go. Hopefully Murphy sees it and has the balls. Very important to cut bait on both or we'll be screwed for years. Murphy - TT may be nice guy but this is a biz. Don't be a chickensh/t.

Re: the Holgrem lil chuckie bandwagon
I'd be leary with Holmgren as a GM. He lost that position with Seattle as mentioned above. As a coach, most definitely.
Obviously need to hire GM first, which was also mentioned.
I don't know who would be good GM choices out there, but would like an established coach if a new GM/Coach is brought in. Obviously Gruden, Cowher, Holmgren will be the big names. You can toss Mike Shanahan in that mix, even though I never cared for the rat. I have always kind of liked Brian Billick. Not sure if he'd be a good fit or not. He kind of flamed out at the end of the Baltimore days, but has a good track record and Super Bowl win.

Re: the Holgrem lil chuckie bandwagon
I am hesitant to fire TT because I think he has done a pretty solid job and I agree with his mentality to build through the draft. I'm also hesitant because Murphy has no track record when it comes to hiring GMs. It's entirely possible Murphy could hire someone much worse than TT and then we'd really be screwed. That's why I am for keeping TT and firing MM. I do realize this is a risky scenario because coaches may not want to come here knowing the GM that hires them could be on the hot seat from day 1.

Re: the Holgrem lil chuckie bandwagon
TT has brought in his share of talent. The problem is he hasn't addressed the offensive line and that unit alone is going to make the difference in the season for us.
Again, I'll give TT one more year after this. But the buffoon head coach has to be fired especially in a year where there are SO many good coaches available.

TT has to go too. TT has done fine in the draft but how many years are we going to wait for him to realize that the game is won in the trenches. He's an ok GM but we need a cleanslate here and just because Murphy hasn't hired a GM before doesn't mean he wont find one better then TT. There is too much talent at the head coaching position to be complasent at a critical time like this as well and the sooner we start reaching out the better chance we have of landing the right guy. We need a vocal leader who wont tolerate our current softness and will hol guys accountable

I agree with the mentality to build through the draft, but the key word is build. He's relied almost exclusively on the draft, and when you do that, you really need to hit on a high number of your draft picks, especially the top ones. TT doesn't have the best track record with that. I'm not going to argue about how well he has or hasn't done in the draft, but I think most of us can agree he hasn't drafted well enough to rely on it as the sole way of building this team. And with a very few exceptions that I'm sure someone will point out that I'm forgetting, he hasn't done that.

I still don't think it is realistic to get Cowher. It really seems that he is loving life in Carolina, and just waiting for that job with the Panthers to open up.

TT and McCarthy have to go. Alot of good coaches out there and don't forget the Packers are a top 5 franchise in all sports still. Shanahan would get my vote for coach.

Was listening to Chmura's show this morning and he thinks that Cowher, Holmgren, and Gruden all have egos that would only bring them back to large market teams. I know that's like the pot calling the kettle black, but that's what he thinks.

Re: the Holgrem lil chuckie bandwagon
How many years do TT and MM have left on their deals? I think that will probably play a role in the decision. The organization seems to like to go on the cheap, so overpaying a premium coach might not be in their plans. I think TT is a good drafter, but how about a free agent now and then? Is Mark Murphy putting the handcuffs on his GM and not letting him use the full cap. I can't imagine that TT thinks that spending less is helping his cause. If this is the case, I can see Murphy being a little more leniant with TT and MM and giving both another year after this season.

Re: the Holgrem lil chuckie bandwagon
The one hopeful thing is that TT was already here when Murphy was hired. Maybe, HOPEFULLY Murphy will want to bring in his own guy.
