OT - Iverson in Memphis

Post#1 » by Mr. E » Tue Nov 3, 2009 9:53 pm

DISCLAIMER - THIS IS NOT A THREAD ADVOCATING A TRADE OF ANY KIND INVOLVING THE ROCKETS AND IVERSON!!!

OK, now that we have that out of the way so that there are no misunderstandings, did you all see the Wiretap article regarding Iverson and Memphis?

http://basketball.realgm.com/src_wireta ... with_role/

"No. I'm not a bench player. I'm not a sixth man," Iverson added. 'Look at my resume and that'll show I'm not a sixth man. I don't think it has anything to do with me being selfish. It's just who I am. I don't want to change what gave me all the success that I've had since I've been in this league. I'm not a sixth man. And that's that."

OK, now be honest...who didn't see this coming??? Granted, I thought we'd make it a couple weeks, but we all knew that this was going to happen. I still don't understand why some of our fellow Rocket fans wanted to bring this guy in at some point this past offseason.

Let's wait until Ariza blows a layup in Milwaukee before we start cursing him....

I actually didn't see it coming. I thought he had genuinely matured and realized he isn't 23 anymore.

We have Cook. He just gets ignored by everyone.
I'm sorry I haven't been funny. I am not a comedian. I am Lenny Bruce.

Looks like AI is considering retirement......

IMO if he goes through with this he'll probably sit at home for awhile and then will go to a contending team, but he will have to deal with a role change.
