You get the official "League Contrarian of the Year" award 8-)

What's more, you'll be taking it from the undisputed 4 time award winner: Carl.

* THe league contrarian of the year award is given to that special individual who, through his own actions, brings about mayhem and chaos to the league. This award, which was originally named the "Carl--don't send me a trade offer I don't like or I will cuss you out--award," but was changed because of the length of the name, and to keep Carl from having any possible recognition.

I'd like to hear Jordan's side of the story.

I'd also like to hear what he would have done had someone else in the league done this.

I didn't expect to see offers on Brand so quickly. He's been struggling to fit in Philly, and I just didn't have the patience to see him turn around, so settled to trade him for someone to buy low. The swap for Crawford may have been better than the TMac one, but if Brand is going to turn it around, I'd rather see him turn it around on insfo's team rather than Stanford's. Plus, I'm optimistic that TMac will have a good year. Grover's track record with Arenas and JON this season has been good.

I give the odds on a turn around about 10-1. The best chance is for him to get traded. I thought it was worth the risk to make an offer.

What do you all think the odds are for Brand to get traded? His contract (with current play) makes it real difficult. With 2010 free agency, I think Brand wouldn't get traded until after it.

To be quite honest, I don't think I would have done a lot about it. It's a fantasy league after all.

And, yes, I know it contradicts a previous post of mine, but upon reflection, IMO it was a minor mistake - I jumped the gun by 2-3 hours. That's all it was - nothing more, nothing less.

I don't really know what else I can say about this matter apart from I'd like to see a fair resolution.

Regarding League Commish... all of this really is a ridiculous discussion. If you expect the Commish to always be on top of things 100% than you're expectations are too high. If I wasn't going to be around, I would drop players on the day of their 5th game, before it started. And sometimes I was late with the drops. Some trades were put through that everybody screamed veto on. I reversed some trades that were accepted 'accidentally' and some screamed over that. I trust that Jordan puts in a lot of time into these leagues and the boards because he likes to help out and he's a great league member. He's proven to always be fair. And I've never doubted his intentions. I'm not sure what more you can ask for.

Anyways, we'll come back to this in the offseason. If Jordan still wants to pass this on, I'll approach some people then...

I don't recall players ever getting dropped early and recall you always doing it the day following the fifth game. I say this, as I recall myself being the first one to realize once we could do it ourselves I could drop a player the night of the fifth game and have his replacement for the following night.

Can we clarify now what exactly the procedure is for dropping a player to the IL? I still say five complete games following the game in which he got injured. So if a player gets hurt in the first quarter that is not 3/4 of a game towards injury time. Also, if you drop a player at the sound of the final buzzer and drop a player and the refs then review a play an put extra time on the board or rule the shot good/not good and the game goes to OT then it is an early drop and subject to the penalty.

What should the penalty be?

Yes, I was greedy and CUNNING to try to claim Griffin but if there is no penalty people will be dropping players early all the time and then saying woops. If we don't want it to be a major penalty I would go back to the five additional days idea. I still like the ping pong ball idea. YS does not deserve back to back #1 overalls.

If we are going to say it did not help YS to drop early can I drop a player now and just not play the guy I want to pick up until after the fifth game? I am sure the answer to this is no.

Well then don't think of that #1 pick as a reward. Think of it... as the result of a league that strives for parity.

I think that we can all agree that the best solution to the problem would be for Stanford to give Chris Paul back to me.

Done and done.

I was hoping it would be nothing. That would have made it a much more appealing proposition.

Me getting the #1 pick occurred because of two consecutive bottom-placed showings.

If I wanted to tank, do you think I would have dropped Griffin at all?

I am looking to compete all.
