1998 NFC Championship Game

Post#1 » by TheFranchise21 » Wed Oct 17, 2007 3:00 am

I seriously almost come to tears re-watching this.

It was just on ESPN2.

On a key third and 7 play late in the 4th, Green was going to call a run to make Atlanta burn a timeout. Cris Carter protested for a pass play citing Atlanta's tendency to blitz in this situation throughout the entire regular season. Green relented and called a pass and Atlanta didn't blitz and played zone coverage instead and nobody was open for Cunningham.

Then they brought on Gary Andersen which was supposed to ice the game and we all know what happened after that.

When are they showing the 2000-2001 championship game? I just want to know so I don't accidentally turn on the TV while its on.

It'd probably be best not to be in the same room as a TV that hour, just to be safe.

The 41-donut game didn't bother me as much as the 1998 game. But, I really don't want to watch either game again.
