OT-The Bron - most gifted moron in NBA history?

Post#1 » by Cooze » Tue Nov 10, 2009 9:15 pm

HIs arrogance is through the stratosphere. He is completely coddled by coach Brown. He refuses to post up which is ridiculous for a guy of that physical stature. He makes the same stupid mistakes he did 7 years ago. Shoots a bajillion inadvertent threes in 'toine-like fashion. How great would this kid be if he if he could actually calm the f down and stop buying into his own hype? I was once a big fan of him but lately he's starting to remind me of the Bret Farve of the NBA - a complete attention whore more concerned with celebrity status than the game itself? Discuss.

I agree.....might be the tall poppy syndrome.....but i would kick him in the nuts if I had the chance.....he is classless and wrapped up in his own SUPERSTARDOM and he seams to expect everything.....Stern does seam to want to simply hand him a ring though......
He cant post up in the system they have now.....cause shaq is there....
Is Mike Brown that good a coach? Or is it Lebron?
BANG!................. Marjong!

Did you just get up today and say 'I'm going to start a LeBron bashing thread, just because I feel like it' while you were eating your cereal???

LeBron is the best player in the league IMO. If he did all those things you wanted him to do, he would be perfect, and the best player in the history of the game. But nobody is perfect. Even Jordan had his flaws.

BTW, your sig is off the chain. Did you make it?

You know what man? It seems to me that NO ONE wants to call it like it is with this kid. Yes. he is a stud player. but he has so many stupid habits that he is unwilling to let go of in the name of being that perfect player. If he truly looked up to Jordan and wanted to mold himself to be like him then he would actually step back and look at his game and instead of being a 1/2 %point better from three he'd realize that a guy that big and strong should be DOMINATING in the post in addition to his stand there for 22 seconds and then either drive or jack up a three game which is what he really is. I feel for Cleveland man. I really do. If this kid bolts for NY he is going to be the Dan Marino of basketball. Which karmatically is what he deserves at this point for all of his immaturity.

I didnt wake up today wanting to bash the Bron but he reminds me so much af Farve lately I can't stand it.

and yes my man, I did my own sig. thx for the props.

Awesome sig cooze.

I do think he's overrated. He doesn't have many skills like Kobe does and is a streaky shooter at best. Plus he's a whiner.

Don't make me stick up for Lebron, please don't.

I'll stop at he's not perfect but he's the best player in the game, which is impressive for someone who was rich for life before he even got out of high school. He's young, and he keeps getting better. Some people think Kobe is better, I disagree but won't argue the point because they are close enough that it's more opinion that separates them than anything.

I'm with this guy I don't want to stick up for him either but clearly the best player in NBA, and 24 ughh!!
Kobe is the best sg and was the best overall player until lebron showed up. do the research yourselves and see. Nobody is perfect and if he did those things you asked for then it would be a super NBA player the likes of which no one has seen before.

This isn't the first time I've said this, but I'm always surprised Reggie Evans isn't on everyone's top 5 biggest morons/disliked list.

Ahh, Reggie the nutgrabber!

LeBron doesn't have the killer instinct of a Bird/Jordan/Kobe and he doesn't have the discipline to self-improve like Bird/Jordan/Kobe etc...

I consider him the most physically gifted player in the league, but certainly not the most skilled (when he learns how to play good D, shoot FTs better than 80%, and work within the flow of an offense, then we can talk)...
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

But the combination of his physical gift and skills makes him the best player in the league. Most people only concentrate on what he can't do, like his FT, etc. But his D has improved greatly and no one that big has ever handled the ball the way he does. Dribbling is one of the most important skills in basketball and he does it as well as most point guards and that allows him to get anywhere on the court.

As individual players only, I don't think there are many arguments that can put Kobe Bryant over LeBron I'm afraid. At this age at least, LeBron has the statistics and individual accolades by a wide margin. Whether or not he will have a "greater" or more "accomplished" career when all is said and done depends on how many Championships he can win, if any.

But I agree, the kid is incredibly arrogant and narrow minded. He's lucky to have a tool like Mike Brown, who although is a 'decent' coach, cedes to his every will.

Never liked him ever since I saw him play live in 2003, back when he was still with the Sonics. The dude plays D the whole game with his mouth agape, like he was trying to french kiss Antoine. It's kinda fitting that he's a Raptor now. I'm sure Rupaul and Andrea let him get to 1st base in practice.

As for Lebron - nah, he's still a great player. Sure, he might enjoy the spotlight, but most elite athletes do. That's why they work so hard. You're not going to work hard in any field if there's no recognition at the end of the day. That applies to basketball, all the way down to the mail room in an office. I don't like him, only because he's a threat to the Cs. But I respect the guy as a basketball player, and would love to him in Celtic Green anytime.

He needs to learn how to be humble rather then arrogant. Everything is an act from him, nothing is from the heart. Did you see all those facial expressions after he didn't get the call in the Celts game? He loves the camera on himself. Plus he's so disrespectful to the cleveland fans, he knows that whatever he says the media is going to twist it around, yet he loves hearing himself talk so he can't help himself.
As for basketball, he's amazing.

i hate to stick up for lebron cuz i don't like him much, but i don't think he's said anything terrible to the media. if he were to just shut up the media would portray him as some sort of unfriendly sourpuss. so he has to answer the questions at least occasionally, and he's been very noncommital, which is exactly what he should be. maybe the CLE fans want him to profess his undying love for CLE, but it ain't happening. i don't think he'd burned any bridges or anything, which is far more than you can say for some players who've gone thru similar circumstances.

he is a bit arrogant but the great ones are. i don't think he's any worse or better than Pierce who called himself the best player in the NBA. i don't have any problem with Pierce's confidence, or Lebron's. you have to think that way. in point of fact, lebron IS the best player in the nba, so that's not even bragging really, it's just the truth.

he is whiny to the refs which is annoying because he gets so many damn calls, but a team with rasheed on it can't complain about anyone whining to the refs. it's part of today's game, for better or worse. i dislike the refs for giving him every call, but that's not lebron's fault.

Well if you had to knock Lebron - it's that he isn't wise beyond his years yet. I feel that in crunch situations he is prone to questionable decisions. Part of this is that his talent level is so high these can work for him. But mentally his game isn't as fully advanced as it could be yet..

I don't get the Lebron bashing. If he played on the Lakers instead of Kobe, he wouldn't be jacking up 25 shots a game to average 30. Lebron is simply so much better than Kobe in every phase of the game - except creating a shot for himself which gives Kobe the clutch shooter rep that makes him the media favorite - it isn't worth discussing. Lebron actually is the best defender at his position unlike Kobe who gets voted in because he is the best offensive player amongst good SG defenders. Unfortunately for Lebron, his GM cant engineer completely lopsided trades to get him superstar talent to play with. Kobe has 4 superstars to play with (if you believe the Bynum hype) and Lebron has none (Shaq is washed up).
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."
