indeed, sick mix
Sometimes you just have to look yourself in the mirror and say....Tyreke Evans.
That just happened.

Yeah, pretty amazing.

There were some great passes in there, but it's tough to know how much of that will translate to higher levels. What you can say right now is that he is incredible athlete with absurd handles.

What about this situation.

If we ended up with the #1 pick and drafted Wall, would you support trading Evans for one say Bosh or Amare?

Wall/Evans is a terrible backcourt, simply because the two are too similar in terms of their offensive game. Just like having a Rono/Rose backcourt or Rondo/Evans backcourt not working out all that well.

Wall I feel can step in from day 1, and help push a quality team into the playoffs...suppose a lineup of
PG: J. Wall/B. Udrih
SG: K. Martin/O.Casspri
SF: F. Garcia/A. Nocioni
PF: A. Stoudemire/J. Thompson
C : S. Hawes/______

Use the MLE on a quality backup big and thats a team that could be playoff bound

I don't think Evans and Wall would be a horrible backcourt, as long as we have a SF who can shoot deep. I mean, with Hawes a good shooter from anywhere, Thompsobn can hit the jumper, and Tyreke has improved since summer league, we'd still have enough variety.

Well, when I say bad backcourt, I don't mean it won't work. There's a good chance that it would work fine, but just maximized. I also feel in terms of trade value, Evans can net us a lot more than Martin.

Essentially I feel
Wall + Martin + Thompson + Hawes + (Evan's Trade Return)
is better than
Wall + Evans + Thompson + Hawes + (Martin's Trade Return)

I thought we all agreed youtube videos are a pretty poor player evaluation tool.

Says WHO? How do you know this? You got two sub 20 year old guards with SUPERSTAR potential in each of them. Why the hell do you trade one? Take the CONSERVATIVE approach and see how they develop, I guarantee waiting 3-4 years will not result in anything less in trade from now to later. That's just not a smart proposition, ESPECIALLY considering our big men are in their WAY early 20's to boot. WHy trade one of those guards for a guy who's 5-6 years older? Let em all hit stride together.

Three comments:

1) You can selectively edit anything to make it look "amazing"...just saying.

2) Didn't exactly see a lot of passing going on there.

3) Flashy play on HS/college level does not necessarily translate into effective play on the pro level.
This space needs to be filled with a new sig...but I'm too lazy to make one.

He can shoot, but not well. Similar to Evans. Both aren't great shooters and have built their games around attacking the basket.

Well, what you said, is the approach I would personally like to take (given the situation), but I feel that most other fans and the Maloofs aren't willing to wait another 3-4 years before we start making a playoff run (something that I am willing to do).

If we are willing to wait and let the players develop (similar to Portland or OKC) than fine.

But while the best option is to wait and hold onto both players, I still don't think they can coexist perfectly if neither alter their game. Both are bad shooters and don't pose an outside threat. Both need the ball in their hands to maximize their use, both are best at attacking the rim. It's like having CP3 and Wade on a team not being as effective as having CP3 and Dwight

*Edit*
*Ultimately its about maximizing a player's productivity and having two talents that don't compliment each other simply isn't as good as having two players that do compliment each other.

The Kings are tied for 7th out of 15 teams in the West. Paul Westphal has never had a season less than .500 and that is playoff territory. This ain't last year. Don't make too many John Wall Kings jerseys!

We have 2 of the top 10 rookies this year already.

Appreciate what you have now!!!

Not only that but he was setting people up just to cross them over. If you look at the horrible defense that's being played it's clear that the competition isn't anywhere near his level.

I think he still will be a fine pro. Just don't expect all that nonsense to come over to the NBA game.

yeah, its not called a highlite reel for nothing

And what you can't see in that video are his leadership skills, does he have any?

I think we can see that Evans has some and will develop into a pretty good leader.

I think the Kings need to look for a replacement for Martin anyway because he is injury prone. Its a shame because Evans and Martin are the perfect backcourt.

Didn't he also want to save our season after the first loss to Oklahoma, by trading for Steven Jackson?
