I don't think GS wants to do this deal.

+1

For the Wolves...I'd think about it. Might be a bit light for Jefferson...really depends on what you think of the Knicks chances at a bottom 5 finish.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

As I mentioned on rubechat: No chance the Jazz do this, only Nellie being a moron allows them to do this, and the Wolves say yes instantly. Or at least I would for the Wolves.

I'd do it as well. I think the Jazz would do this though, why wouldn't they? Jefferson is young and better than any big they have on that squad. They are going to lose Boozer anyway, and there's very little chance that they get a better player than Jefferson with NY's pick. Throw in a borderline all star SG/SF and they actually have a chance against the Lakers in the playoffs.

Randolph is the deal breaker here...Warriors fans are very high on him.

Because Utah loves the pick and roll and good/physical defense. Jefferson doesn't play either of those.

And Sloan would hate Captain Jack.

It's my opinion, and Utah fans would probably agree, that Jefferson's defense was actually better than Boozer's last year. I don't think they lose any defense there. Jefferson has a lot in common with a young mailman. He didn't have an outside game to speak of for years to start his career.

While I would love to get Randoph, I don't think GS does that. You might be better off taking them out of this deal.

Jefferson, Gomes, Sessions. and Cardinal (cap space)
for
Boozer, AK 47, Ronnie Price, and Utah's #1 pick.

Clearly Price sucks compared to Sessions, and that's a pretty significant upgrade for Utah. They also upgrade at PF with a very reasonably priced Al Jefferson. Wolves can then trade Boozer for more picks/cap space and have slightly more cap space next year. AK 47 isn't terrible (even though his contract is), but that's the price for getting Utah's #1.

Overall we'd have almost a 50/50 shot at the #1 pick and be pretty much guaranteed to get 2 of the top 4 picks in a pretty deep draft. If we get #2 and #4 with Wall gone, that could be Favors and Turner. If we get Wall, even better. There's a good 3 PG backcourt for you, Rubio, Flynn and Wall.
