Gilbert Arenas or Devin Harris?

Post#1 » by ChronicKerr » Wed Nov 11, 2009 8:08 pm

I'm in a roto league that counts Turnovers and after last nights performance I have 50% less hair than I did prior to that Washington game. Should I trade Arenas for Devin Harris? The other mgr. is fed up with waiting on him as he has 2 other injured players and said he'd do it.

Arenas or Harris from here on out?

Unless you're getting Harris + someone else then don't even consider pulling the trigger.

Harris likely out another 1-2 weeks after he was initially expected to be out 1-2 weeks. He's back to doing some drills and what not though so if I had to guess at the earliest you'll see him back next Wed. (second half of a back-to-back)...

Why not? Arenas kills me in 3 categories (Both %'s and TO's). You really think that is going to turn around, not to mention he has a hurt calf.

Just accepted Harris for Arenas in my roto league that counts TO's. Arenas is a roto cancer at this point who is ranked around 140. He is now hurting a bit in the calfular region and Harris should be back anytime soon.

I know the previous poster said "don't even consider it" but anyone else have any thoughts?

Bad trade. With Miller and Jamison coming back, Gilberts FG% should go up and his turnovers down. His assist should also spike back up. Sorry for your loss.

Do you not expect Harris to live up to the expectations that led to him being drafted on average higher than Arenas in almost all leagues.

7 games in, in which he's played 2. What changes those expectations? I know his groin has been bothering him but Arenas' calf has been bothering him as well not to mention he hasnt played a full season in 3 years. Harris' skills haven't gone anywhere and the Nets are a joke in which he'll be counted on to play big minutes and not only distribute but score at a high rate. With Lopez down low I'm liking him a lot. Ah well, playing in a roto league where balance is key and cancerous players (god awful %'s and TO's) almost never allow you to win getting rid of Arenas for a player I believe will end up ranked higher than him (on average) seemed like a good idea.

I appreciate the feedback though as no one else seemed to chime in on this one.

I just think that Arenas was ranked low to begin with because of him coming back from injury and his past issues. If people knew he would preform like he has been, i believe he would have been ranked higher then Harris. As you said, we can agree to disagree! :D

Get Harris, he was awesome last year speaking of stats and it's a much more healthy playe also. Arenas will get injured again soon or later.

Contrary to some posters here, I'd rather have Harris.

1.) CDR and Terrence Williams. Aside from Brook and Courtney, those are the team's scorers. That just goes to show how the Nets really needs Harris's scoring abilities.

2.)With everyone back on the Wiz roster, arenas' PPG shall drop. His assists? Do you expect Arenas to give you atleast 10apg? Because I don't.

3.) Isn't Harris considered as a fantasy stud coming unto to the season and prior to his injury? This might be the best time to buy him that low.

I think it's a good trade for you. But I think you could have gotten more, maybe an upgrade to the worst player on your team. Since he looks like desperate in acquiring a top fantasy guard ASAP. :D

I take it that your a Nets fan even though it looks like you're not completely sold on your star PG as opposed to Arenas but I was wondering if you had any updated news on the return of Harris to the lineup. Any help is much appreciated as I can hold off on the trade for a few more days if it's going to be another 1-2 weeks as opposed to next week. Thanks :)

I'd rather have Harris, easily.
