Trade with Sixers.....

Post#1 » by 76ers76ers » Thu Nov 12, 2009 4:30 pm

Philadelphia trades: Brand, and Williams

Charlotte trades: Radmonovic, Mohammed, Diop, and Augustine

Charlottes lineup:
C-Chandler
PF-Brand
SF-Wallace
SG-Bell
PF-Felton
I think Brand will redeem himself with LB as coach. We just have a dumb coach that doesnt know how to use Brand right.

Brand is horrible right now with an even worse contract.

I'd pass.

I gladly take on Brand's contract, if I have a chance to get rid of this:

this trade would make us better in the short term, but not good enough. its a typical panic move that would kill us in 2 years. pass.

DJ is the type of player we need to be holding on to. Young guy with potential on a rookie deal. Getting rid of Diop would be nice, though.

Maybe Im in the minority here but I dont see how we could turn this trade down, even at the level he's playing at now Brand is still better than everyone we are trading away & better than everyone on this team except Crash.. we cant use the injury as an excuse becuz Chandler is just as injury prone and was coming off surgery/injury(which led to a trade for him being rescinced!!) & still isnt fully recovered yet we all defended that move.. I dont like having to trade both Vlade & Nazr as they both have shorter contracts but & I definetly understand the $$ concerns but during the length of Brand's contract everybody on our team expires and there is no one on this team we should re-sign at a contract amount close to what they have now...

Plus the real kicker in this particular deal is we get Lou Williams...have any of you guys seen him this year?! he is a player, real canidate for MIP this year, and can score at will. I would take him & start him over Felton immediately and wouldnt have to think hard about it!!

If Brand was better than anyone on our team except for Crash, why would Philly take on Diop, Nazr and Radman? Also why would they have to bribe us to take Brand by throwing in Williams?

By doing this trade you're saying we're building our team around Elton Brand. Are you serious? There is a reason Philly is desperate to dump him, he isn't very good!

Instead, we can stink this season, hopefully get a top 5 pick in the draft and have a much more flexible team cap wise next summer where we will have expiring contracts to deal off for players who aren't gimpy like Brand.

Hell yes I'd do that. Philly would laugh in our faces.

Because Eddie Jordan does not know how to use him right. And the pieces we have around Brand wont work............Also Speights has been fitting into the scheme better than Brand.........I do believe he is a Larry Brown type of player............Good defense/rebounder...........Plays hard/hard worker................Excellent pick and roll/pick and pop player.

Yeah...and I have a bridge I'd like to sell you. Brand very soon will turn 31 years old. He has bad knees, can't rebound and doesn't score. Can you say retire?

Philly didnt offer this trade a fan made this "imaginary" proposal.... I personally dont think Philly would take this package for Brand and if they did it would be to lighten up future cap space...you know kinda like we did with Okafor/Chandler?! Secondly maybe he just doesnt fit into the uptempo type style that Philly is built best to play... I just dont get how can you say Brand isnt very good, dont you first have to give a player that missed so much time w/ injury a chance to work off the rust & get back into basketball shape?? He may not be what he was before but why cant he avg 18pts 8rbs a game, I dont think thats unreasonable once he gets back in condition especially on a team like ours that has no inside presence at all.

I mean really your talking like trading for Elton Brand is the worst idea ever, yet your a fan of a team that traded for Nazr, Radmanovic & Diop all while they had multiple years remaining on their contracts... lets not overpay Brand to actually contribute to this team but lets overpay Diop for like 4 more years to do absolutely nothing and your defending that line of thought!! Seriously?!

Trade for Brand's contract? Haven't we learned by now to NOT do that?

I would actually do this. Lou Williams makes this worth it. But I feel like we'd need to replace Raja for DJ. How could we move DJ when we don't have a guaranteed PG for next season?

Alright then, if Brand can be as good as you claim, then surely Philly could do a lot better than what we would be able to offer them.

And you know Brand stinks when a Philly fan comes here trying to bribe us with Lou Williams. Not only that, HE wants to take back Radman, Nazr, and Diop!!! Holy crap!!!

Stupid discussion as the trade proposed is absurd on so many levels.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Wouldn't Lou Williams be the guaranteed point guard? Doesn't really matter, Philly would never go for this.

what about?

Brand for Diop, Radman, Ajinca

Do be honest, Brand's contract is toxic, but we won't get no help from diop anyway.

I would do that.

I don't see why why we should include Ajinça. IT sould be waste to use him as a filler.

Diop, Radmanovic, Mohammed and I still wouldn't do that.
