You can send offers whenever you feel like it but if you really want a player other teams may have an interest in...

I thought it was Sunday?

Frankly, I literally don't have time between now and Tuesday, but I was banking on not sleeping Saturday night and getting some headway made here.

So Roc,

Are you going to have the signing come in top down or have tier 3 guys start signing early (which RARELY happens)?

I don't think that GM's should have to be sending entire Free Agency plans yet, when a lot will depend on whether they get one or two of the big name FA's. Yet, if my thinking is correct, you'll have a crappy role player sign the first day too, when if they would wait, they could potentially make more money and/or have a bigger role.

I just want to know your thinking here since this whole Free Agency seems kind of vague with how you are working it.

Since you won't reply to my email, I'll just post here.

The top tier players would like to have an idea as to who would be on the team they may sign with, hence the sending a complete plan. The top FAs will most likely be the first to get signed but we will have to wait and see how it plays out.

If you don't get one of the top tier FAs a contingency plan should already be set to go if needed.

Free Agents will start signing around 10:00pm EST so get your offers in if you haven't already done so.

and

make sure your roster is up to date if you want to sign a FA.

New York's Long Awaited Dream Comes True; LeBron James Going Broadway

Associated Press

NEW YORK -- LeBron James has taken his game to The Big Apple. "It was the best decision for myself in all regards, Cleveland will be missed, and I'll never forget the memories I've left there, but it's time for a new chapter in my life, and there's no better place than the Mecca of Basketball. I look forward to building a championship team with New York and restore the greatness that was once there with Walt Frazier, and Willis Reed, or with Patrick Willis in the 90's. I wish Cleveland the best of luck in their future endeavors." More on the deal later, the reported deal is a max contract beginning at $17,400,000 dollars.

Knicks GM TMACFORMVP had this to say, "We're obviously very excited to bring in whom we feel is the best player in the game. We're not gonna stop here, as we plan to fill out our the bench and acquire more talent to become the best team possible. Once we acquired Gasol from the Spurs, LeBron became the goal from the outset, we cleared some contracts and was able to acquire the core that would eventually attract LeBron." GM TMACFORMVP declined to state what else could be in store for the Knicks. One thing's for certain, LeBron will be a mainstay for many years to come.

Wade, Raptors agree to terms

Dwyane Wade is staying in Canada, having agreed upon a contract with the Toronto Raptors. As per team policy, financial terms were not disclosed, but it is assumed the deal was somewhere in the $1M per year range :P (max deal, max increases).

Raptors GM, bryant08, had this to say about Wade:

"In our eyes, Dwyane Wade was never going to leave. A great city with amazing fans and the opportunity to bring an NBA Championship to this city while playing alongside a fantastic team. Dwyane had a number of reasons for coming back and the little things really did play a role in his decision such as Toronto being so close to home for Dwyane, just a 90 minute flight. Dwyane also loved our acquisiton of Lamar (Odom), they had great chemistry together in Miami. I'm really looking forward to the start of the season with the talent we have and role players like Reggie Evans, DeJuan Blair, James Posey, Antoine Wright and Daniel Gibson. The ownership let me know that whatever we needed to do to bring a Championship to Toronto had to be done and we believe we got the team to do it. I congratulate Dwyane on a well-earned contract and look forward to Chris (Bosh) and Dwyane as the faces of this franchise for years to come."

Camby heading back to where it all started

The Raptors announced the re-signing of Dwyane Wade earlier today and it seems all their Noels are coming at once as they are also announcing the signing of unrestricted free agent Marcus Camby to a 5 year deal. As per team policy, financial terms were not disclosed (MLE). It is believed Camby showed great interest in competing for an NBA Championship, returning back to the city where he was drafted as well as began his career, and the Raptors were among the few (or none, I'm not sure) that offered him a contract 5 years in length.

Raptors GM, bryant08, had this to say regarding Camby:

"He's a guy with a great deal of experience and he was the target from the second we knew he was hitting the market. He's got great basketball savvy, is a fantastic weakside defender and still at his age has the ability to get up and down the floor. We offered him the 5 year deal because Marcus believes that he'll be able to compete at a high level until that age, but frankly from our perspective we thought we needed to bite the bullet to ensure we get a player of his quality. We also were not happy with the production Samuel Dalembert was giving us at the starting 5 spot and it'll be interesting to see who wins the starting job, but for now Marcus has got the edge. We believe we've got the depth throughout the roster to come out of the Eastern Conference and hopefully bring an NBA Championship to Toronto."

Tracy McGrady joins Jefferson and company in Minnesota

The Wolves annouced the signing of guard/forward Tracy McGrady to a 3 year contract today. Terms of the contract were not disclosed but it is reported to be around 36 million with a player option for the final year. "We're thrilled to welcome McGrady to the Timberwolves," said Garmfay, Timberwolves President of Basketball Operations. "McGrady brings great veteran experience and a legit scoring option to help out Al Jefferson. We believe his best days are still ahead of him. He feels really excited about a fresh start and plans to lead the Wolves to the playoffs."

McGrady entering his 13th NBA season has career averages of 22.1 PPG 6.1 RPG and 4.7 APG. The Wolves will be his 4th NBA Team
