Make a Bold Move
Step One- Trade Gomes. Doesn't matter what for as long as it frees up cap room for next year.
Step Two- Trade Big Al and Flynn to Washington for Arenas. Not likely today but if they keep playing poorly Washington may want to go in a different direction.
Step Three- Use cap space to sign a quality big. Bosh would be first choice, Amare 2nd. With Arenas here it would be easier to lure another All Star. By trading Gomes you can pay the Max.
It is risky but worth it. Arenas is the perfect fit for the triangle. Starting 2010 lineup: Sessions, Arenas, Brewer, Love, Bosh. All players who do multiple things well and fit into the triangle. Add a probable top 3 pick and now we can compete. I read the forum everyday but this is my first post so take it easy on me.

Arenas is injury prone and Bosh shouldn't play C.

Re: Make a Bold Move
Ugh. Arenas is an injury plagued ginormous contract who doesn't play any defense. Terrible deal for us. If we're trading Jefferson AND Flynn, we better be getting back a legit superstar, and Arenas is not.
I'd certainly be fine with trading Gomes, but I want something back for him.
I doubt Bosh would come here. If he leaves Toronto, he's going to a big market. No Amare ever please. I'd rather draft one of the many high level big men available this year than pay Amare max money to be disappointing (again, that's assuming he'd even come here).

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

Wasn't this pile of trash originally posted on rubechat? Just say "no" to Gilbert Arenas.

Well, if it's Gomes + Sessions + Brewer for Gilbert, we can talk. But Al Jefferson? Really? Really really?john2jer wrote:Wasn't this pile of trash originally posted on rubechat? Just say "no" to Gilbert Arenas.
And I'm pretty sure you're thinking of the Al Jefferson and Flynn for CP3 thread

No, I saw this exact same post somewhere. Same stupid idea of trying to trade for Gilbert Arenas.

That arenas trade is bad enough that I hope you sit on a toilet long enough to catch crabs.

Re: Make a Bold Move
Not feeling the luv on this one. I wouldn't trade pure cap space for Gilbert, let alone two of our three best players.
A Flynn + Jefferson combo would have to bring back Lebron, Wade, Howard, Paul, Durant, Melo or Roy for me to be on board.

Trade Rubio and Jefferson to the Pacers for Granger.
Draft Evan Turner (Not really bold)
Roll with Flynn/Turner/Granger/Love and fill the hole at center with your remaining assets.

If the Wizards GAVE US Arenas, I wouldn't want him if we had to pay his contract.
It goes through AT LEAST 2013/2014 and is over $22 million at that point. This is the new McGrady contract, an albatros.

I wouldn't mind that lineup at all. Jefferson + Rubio is overpaying though.

I'd trade Jefferson and Rubio for Wade or Lebron, not Granger. Jefferson is the best low post scorer in the NBA when healthy. Remember late Jan and Feb last year when was averaged something like 27 pts and 13 rebounds on 50% shooting. He was unstoppable before going down with his injury.

Re: Make a Bold Move
Yea I agree it's overpaying, perhaps by quite a bit if Rubio pans out (I think he will be pretty good), and Granger is a little bit older than I would like. It's just an idea, that lineup looks like a future contender to me, even if we're overpaying, the end result looks good. That package won't fetch Melo or Wade and especially not Lebron, Granger is about the next step down from those guys.
Yea I think Pekovic is going to be pretty decent, I forgot about him. Either start him at Center and sign Tyrus Thomas with some cap space or bring in a center and have Pekovic as your first big off the bench.
It makes a lot more sense to hold onto Jefferson and Rubio because both will only increase in value, this is like a panic trade that still gives the Wolves a nice looking future.

Re: Make a Bold Move
I think the bold move that Wolves should due is trading Al Jefferson.I love Big Al but he doesn't seem to be fitting in with the hole triangle system and at times is a black hole down low.Plus you never know if he will ever get back to the all-star level he was playing at from last year before the knee injury.
trading Al Jefferson could real help the team in the long run buy adding a few key players at possions of need like SF/C/SG and maybe a draft pick as well. Here's a few trade idea's that I think would be good for the Wolves.Keep in mind that I have no idea if the other teams would want to due the trade as well.....
Warriors Get:
C-Al Jefferson
Wolves Get:
C-Andris Biedrins
SF-Kelenna Azubuike
Kings Get:
C-Al Jefferson
Wolves Get:
SG-Kevin Martin
C-Spencer Hawes
Bobcats Get;
C-Al Jefferson
Wolves Get:
SF-Gerald Wallace
SG-Gerald Henderson
1st round pick
Just some idea's I have on how to improve the Wolves.

Throw in maybe just a HAIR more with Jefferson and Rubio, then bring back Granger and Hibbert. That's of course assuming Jefferson's not quite what he was last year. But once he's fully recovered and beasting, it should be an even 2 for 2 swap, maybe them adding in a touch.
Hibbert would be a nice triangle post presence. Great passing big man who can set-up in both the high and low post. Draft Turner.
C - Hibbert/Hollins
PF - Love/Gomes
SF - Granger/Brewer
SG - Turner/Ellington
PG - Flynn/Sessions
Not sure how to exactly get that done, but I like the potential there.
