Susan, when your team commits 10 penalties in one game and the majority of them are of the delay of game or not enough linemen variety, it all goes on the coaching staff.

Exactly. So why didn't our coaching staff find a system that fits him when he was here?

Because the plan was never to have this team be Kyle Orton's team. It was Rex Grossman's job that was lost to injury. Orton came in and did well. Then the two jockeyed for the job. The teams of the last few years suited Grossman's style better than Orton's.

Good:
Defense
Forte's catching
Brad Maynard

Bad:
Cutler
Olin Kreutz (Learn how to snap a football please)
Offensive Line (Way too many penalties)
Coaching (Team comes out woefully unprepared for the 5th straight game)
Forte's running
Devin Hester (2 straight penalties, slip leads to INT)

first and foremost, Olin Kreutz is absolutely 100% DONE in the NFL. he had an amazing pro bowl career. he was beyond durable and will go down in bears history as an all-time great center....BUT GTFO now! his decline has been as rapid as any player i've ever seen. he hasn't been able to as much as snap the ball all season. also Orlando Pace finally went to the bench in the second half and i hope to God he never returns. getting rid of those two will help the line dramatically.

cutler's 5 picks were terrible, but he's our guy and we're riding with him. he's our guy because we have no choice. even though cutler is inconsistent, i don't view him as the problem. i think his inconsistency is the result of many factors -- not just his poor decision making. again, cutler's our guy.

Lovie and Ron Turner, on the other hand, are not our guys. they are gone and I will celebrate with tremendous joy on the day they are let go. it will be a glorious day. in 29 years on this planet i have never seen such an unprofessional Bears team and it starts with how the coaches prepare the players. they have no idea what they are doing out there.

the defense may have showed up tonight, but i'm not fooled. this is a terrible defense. i don't care if they played well against the browns, lions, and 49er's....the defense is HORRID. hunter hillenmeyer is a absolute joke. i cannot wait until the off-season and full scale purging gets underway.

how does Angelo expect to acquire three starting OL, a whole new coaching staff, two starting DL, a starting OLB, a starting safety, a starting CB, a #1 wide-out, and a change of pace RB? please tell me because i'd like to know...

we're headed into a very dark period in chicago football history if drastic measures aren't taken.

You know, Jay Cutler also has to be one of the only quarterbacks that does not benefit from the play action at all. I don't think anyone in the world gives a **** about our running attack.

The Bears D held them to 10 points, despite 4 INTs by Cutler and the gang. So yeah, I put this at the foot of Cutler, and ESPECIALLY Hester. The guy had a 4 minutes steak there where he got like 2 penalties and then slipped on the one play. He was terrible out there. Anyone who thinks we don't need to go WR shopping is fooling themselves. Hester was great at returning because it was all instinct - no complicated plays for him to wrap his head around. WR is just too much for him. He's not wired for it (or built for it for that matter).

No running game, poor run and passing blocking, and no tough #1 WR that finish routes, and makes himself available to the QB( come back to the ball and find a crease in coverage) , when they know he will be flushed out of the pocket= loss.

Cutler had a few bad moments, but he needs a lot of help. Teams will gear up for the pass without a running game.

We need a strong savvy WR like Brandon Marshall or Anqaun Boldin as a #1....the Hester experiment is not developing that well.

Instead of Angelo concentrating on defense by giving up a 2nd rd. draft pick for Adams, he should focus more on the offensive side of the ball...so Cutler will continue to get killed.
A plea for post scoring is a plausible Bulls plan, but plainly isn't a priority. In response to a post player's dismay about his lack of points in the paint, Paxson said.... "I'm not nearly as concerned about the offensive stuff as he is."

1st interception: Jay's fault. Was a stupid pass. Just throw it away and take 3 points there.
2nd interception: Not Jay's fault. Hester slipped. Shouldn't have been a pick.
3rd interception: Not Jay's fault. Hester was screened by a ref.
4th interception: Not Jay's fault. Blatant pass interference that was not called and a terrible snap by Olin Kreutz.
5th interception: Jay's fault. Threw it to nobody although there was a ton of pressure on him and he had to make a quick throw.

For as much blame Cutler is going to get from the media and fans, he really only should be faulted for 2 interceptions. I'm fearing that Cutler is going to get the **** booed out of him next week in primetime when the Bears get blown out by the Eagles and he'll take offense to it.

The fifth interception I can't care less about, the game was ending on that play and I hope he throws 100 out of 100 times instead of trying to run 15 yards up the middle.

The WR thing finally came out. Earl Bennett can't get separation. To say he couldn't get on the field was a flat out excuse for that fact that he doesn't have the speed in and out of cuts to get separation to a window that is open. Johnny Knox can't make a NFL catch. If he is open on a crossing route, then maybe you can hit him in stride and take advantage. But not a good route runner and can't catch in traffic. Devin just isn't good enough to have defenses focused on his every move. He would be GREAT as the slot receiver (imagine getting 1-1 in the middle with LB and nickel backs) but outside he doesn't have the athletic edge to overcome the fact he is not yet reacting to the plays and he can't make vertical plays.

Moves to make the team better:
1. Bring in Larry Johnson
Team needs a RB who can take 8-12 carries a game and LJ is miles ahead of any RB on the street. What's the risk at this point? He knows this is it, could be our own Cedric Benson type signing. Also would be nice to have Forte fear that he isn't the "cornerstone back" until he proves it.
2. Release Orlando Pace, Olin Kreutz, Kevin Payne, Nathan Vasher
3. Fire Ron Turner, entire offensive staff,
4. Sign the following guys (uncapped helps)
WR Lance Moore
WR Vincent Jackson
OL Chester Pitts
OL Alex Barron
LB Keith Ellison
DB Will Allen
DB Marlin Jackson

Draft
Rd 3 Sam Young OT Notre Dame
Rd 4 Myron Rolle S Florida State
Rd 5 Dan Williams DT Tennessee
Rd 6 Jarret Brown QB West Virginia
Rd 7 Brandon Minor RB Michigan

Roster Next Year (45 man)
QB Cutler, Hanie
RB Forte, Johnson, Wolfe
WR Jackson, Moore, Hester, Bennett, Knox
TE Olsen, Clark, Davis
OT Williams (LT), Barron (RT), Young
OG Pitts (LG), Garza (RG), Omiyale
C Beekman

DT Harris, Adams, Harrison, Williams
DE Adams, Brown, Gilbert, Melton
OLB Briggs, Ellison, Roach, Williams
MLB Urlacher, Hillenmeyer
CB Tillman, Jackson, Bowman, Moore,
S Afalava, Allen, Rolle, Manning

K Gould
P Maynard
LS Mannelly

KR Manning, Knox

Vincent Jackson would be a great pickup, not gonna happen though. Johnson would be interesting, but I don't Angelo would go after a guy who has had gotten into so much trouble. They need another RB though, Forte by himself just ain't cuttin it.

Brandon Marshall then, a guy I PRAY the Broncos let go but he is so good they might even realize how incredibly stupid that is.

Brandon and Jay have a great relationship on the field.

We need to find a way to rekindle that bond here with the Bears.
