Dominic Rhodes rumored to be released
Well it wouldnt be entirely surprising due to the play of Lamont Jordan and that crazy game Fargas had i still didnt expect it.
With Jordans back injury (i know hes played but back injuries can be tricky and flare up especially without a lot of rest) and Fargas having an injury history i'd think theyd at least keep him for now.
Didnt they pay him alot to sign this offseason too? Would there be any monetary gain to waiving him now as opposed to later? Apparently he was on the trading block earlier. If thats true I'd assume that the asking price was too high, otherwise someone like the Bucs would of went after him. Going with that, if they valued him that much why would they cut him and get nothing now?
It sounds like a rumor more than anything to me. Anyone (Iceness?) have any more info about this?

Oh yeah i forgot about him. I think he might be (or was already?) moved from the PUP list to injured reserve though since hes still not ready to come back. Though thats probably more of a precaution for the future since its not like rushing him back helps them at this point with what they have already.

Yeah but he should have been the super bowl MVP with the performance he had that game. If hes cut it adds to the Raiders failed attempts to capitalize on guys fresh off a big super bowl game by throwing loads of money at them
Larry Brown (well it wasnt just the super bowl, he had 6 ints in the regular season and returned 2 for touchdowns , but he had 7 combined the first 4 years of his career)
Desmond Howard (He clearly wasnt a receiver, sure he was good returning kicks but how much money is that really worth? Plus you need the blockers for it. His average was about 21 ypg, but when the top ten guys in the league were averaging at least 25 (and more towards 29) thats not very impressive. They werent kicking away from him either, he led the league in kickoff returns.)
Though both those guys managed to stay there 2 years, they went back to their old teams for 1 year after that. (there was a year in between where Desmond went to the lions but you get the point).
They acquired brown at 26 years old, howard at 27 and rhodes at 28.
It would be fitting if Rhodes got another year there and then returned to the colts.
