Sky is not falling - Relax - Lakers look bad tonight also

Post#1 » by exculpatory » Sat Nov 14, 2009 5:32 am

Relax everyone. I love our "sky is falling" contingent, LOL. They come out like clockwork. I do not count Biscuit brain in that contingent - he does not exist for me any longer.

Things will shake out. So we have a "weak" 8-2 record. We have looked great at times and less than mediocre at other times. Atlanta is a very good team, and they outhustled and outrebounded us tonight. Big deal.

We are still evolving. The Truth is still the Truth. He brought it tonight (24 points and 50% shooting and lots of D) until he gimped his knee on a terrible officiating call in Q3. We were on a roll then. Had he not gone down for awhile, we still could have won - as badly as the team played. KG will get better and better. Ray may be sliding a bit, but we can overcome that if it happens. Sheed will perk up again. Rondo looked physically sick tonight - give him a break.

BTW, Lakers and Kobe look like total crap so far tonight, and barring a maniacal Q4 by Kobe, they will lose their second game also. **** happens.

Trust me. We will win the 'ship. RELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLAXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX.

I'm relaxed. Its just the regular season. The L's only mater in the playoffs, which there's no chance we'll miss.

Haha, this is great! Lakers are getting murdered right now! Looks like the C's are still on top, regardless of how badly we played tonight.

its not about the loss its about HOW we lose.
No energy
no passion
n Rondo pushing the O
being beat to every loose ball
poor offensive execussion
no defense

these are legit concenrs.

there is no excuse today. we were rested and ready.
we have legit concerns, only PP and Rondo can break guys off the dribble

LA is still missing their number 2,.......we aren't

Lakers do not have Gasol. When they get him back they will be next to impossible to beat.
Reggie stood out like a sore thumb no tattoos no agenda no chirping nothing Just a guy who could score at will He played college ball at Northeastern he replaced Larry as Celtics captain he belonged to Boston.
And I still miss him. Even now.

I agree. I am disappointed when we lose games but the knee jerk reaction stuff that pops up on this board when we play bad or lose games is ridiculous. Atlanta are a good team.

Why is it that every time the Lakers lose a game you guys ALWAYS have some thread trying to equal your loss (if it happens on the same night) to the Lakers?

It's like you look for some comfort to rub away the sting of the Celtics loss, I mean I've seen this type of thread more than once. Yes we are going to lose games it's a given, most of the time and you guys know this but some time it's not exactly about who you're playing as much as it is the attrition of the schedule.

Teams are gonna roll up trying to finish playoff game "what ever" and are going to play inspired ball against both the Lakers and Celtics. Problem is both the Lakers and Celtics have moved on from playoff ball because they can re focus, those teams can't their minds are still stuck on what happened to them in a playoff series.

This game just happen to line up that if we won and the Celtics lost the number 1 overall spot went to the Lakers.Or if the Celtics won and we lost, they'd keep the 1 spot overall. Technically the Suns have it so it's a loss still on both our parts.

But honestly I wasn't even thinking about that because we still don't have a full team yet with Pau Gasol being out. But this thread just trips me out, it's like it's a consolation prize. It's still a young season and none of the real contenders have got in full stride yet, but when they do I'm sure we'll see the usual suspects pull away from the pack.

But this thread is comedy for me, it's like you guys are standing on a building ready to jump only to find out the Lakers lost and it calms you down and you decide not to jump after all.

We have looked horrible for the past 5 games with the exception of UTA game...

The energy level just isn`t there...maybe we should start with morning shoot arounds again instead of sleeping in...

I think one of the main differences though is that the Lakers are without Pau Gasol, and it has been well established for quite some time now that their bench is horrible (I could never understand why the media hypes up the Lakers bench, I honestly wonder if they actually believe guys like Farmar and Vujacic are good basketball players)...

It can be sad when a fan from another team needs to be the voice of reason.

So what? We lost at home for the second time this year and we just got completely out hustled by the Hawks. I could care less about the Lakers right now....

Gasol was injury-prone in Memphis, so I wouldn't be surprised if he gets injured in the playoffs as well. The Lakers were very lucky last season with him remaining healthy, and the luck has run out. I'm not sure why people would be surprised. It's safe to say that Garnett is not 100% yet and Davis hasn't played a game yet. Celtic fans can make the same claim.

We lost to a great phoenix team and a really good atlanta team.
If we beat orlando then were on the right track.
I expected a lose from atlanta and didn't expect nash and co. to be playing this good early .
2 losses to good teams if we get beat by poopy teams then I will be concerned.
