El Duderino wrote:Hey Gad, i have a few questions about this Squad 6.

1. Has Bogut or any of the players during games pointed to you guys or specifically acknowledged you guys at all in some way during a game?

2. Does Bogut talk to you or anyone else in the group with suggestions?

3. If you have an idea and need music to be played for it, will the Bucks play the music for you after it's approved?

4. Are the Bucks working with you guys at all?

5. Have any sourpuss type of sit on their hands folks in the crowd sitting near your group given any dirty looks or told you to quiet down?

I haven't noticed #1 DURING the game, but Bogut always makes a big deal out of acknowledging us AFTER the game. Pointing at us, clapping his hands in our direction, nodding, fist pumping, etc.

Yes to #2, 3, and 4 though I can only speak for myself on those.
Yes to #5. I'm not sure if you saw my post about the home opener, but there was one guy (there with his wife, presumably, both in mid to late 50s) giving us a problem. He actually demanded that the ushers tell us we had to sit down
Unfortunately the ushers I think weren't quite up to speed yet because they actually started making the section sit down but we got everyone back on their feet pretty quickly. I told the ushers they just ned to upgrade the guy to some better open seats (of which there were plenty) but they initially didn't act on my suggestion. Eventually they did, after Zak said something to them too, I believe.

The ushers have an adaptation period too though. They are used to doing things one way, and Squad 6 totally doesn't conform to that. So I'm not going to complain about the ushers at this point. They're just doing their job and will learn if they haven't already. Almost every single one of them seemed to adapt after the home opener already, so I'd have to say that's pretty good on their part, for sure. It almost reminds me of "Hamsterdam" from Season 3 of "The Wire"
The ushers were kind of like the cops were right away and didn't know how to deal with us having some of the normal rules altered on our behalf :)

Chris Anderson got quite a kick out of the "CUT YOUR HAIR" chant going on, he started to laugh and I think I caught a smirk from Karl when you guys were chanting "SIT DOWN GEORGE".

The players are well aware of your guys presence, it really is a great thing.

Love the Seven Nation Army idea. If you are looking for some other music I've always thought Song 2 by Blur would be good for crowd participation. It's got the woohoo's and the beat lends itself to getting people jumping around.

At the Denver game both Ridnour and Bogut acknowledged us before the game while they were doing warm ups. Birdman looked our way and laughed at some of our chants. Melo looked up our way a few times during the game. The players definitely here what we're saying and chanting.

I still like the jump around idea and after talking to about 10 people that go/graduated from Madison they loved the idea as well so I don't think we'd alienate a lot of people. There probably are a ton of UW grads at the Bucks games that would love this to happen.

Either way I'll go with the group and join in in whatever the decision is.

Bogut said he will let the BC know that we are interested in having Seven Nation Army played between the 3rd and 4th quarters. He also said he would let them know about playing "Lean On Me" with lyrics on the jumbotron in the event that the Bucks ever lose at home. I know it is doubtful that a team ever defeats the Bucks in Squad 6 territory, but if it were to happen we at least have something in place for us to do.

It's weird, I was just going to suggest Seven Nation Army. Great move.

I'd like a video of Gilbert Brown doing the "Gravedigger" for every Bogut block.

Bogut absolutely loves the Seven Nation Army remix I sent him that YouTube link to, so we're definitely doing it tonight!

After seeing OSU doing Seven Nation Army, I thin you have to do something with a Wisconsin/local flair.

May I recommend....

Or the Violent Femmes "Gone Daddy Gone" or "Blister in the Sun."

I don't care about OSU. **** those guys.

Besides, does OSU do the actual Seven Nation Army song by The White Stripes?

Because the song we are using is actually "The Concert" by M@d
It's a techno-ish remix that they use at lots of soccer stadiums.

And like I said, Bogut loves it.

Your just bias against schools that have a tree as a nickname. Its the same reason you hate Stanford.

I'm in favor of the Seven Nation Army/The Concert mix. I've watched the video a few times and I must admit, it's quite catchy. I'm ready to shout it out tonight and if it were on the jumbotron, even better.

Speaking of jumbotron, where has Heidi-Heidi-Heidi-Ho been this year? Even the rest of the crowd sings along to that one. I also like the one they use to use from Cheers where Woody (I think) starts clapping by himself and then eventually the rest of the cast and the BC join in as well.

I love the sit down George chant...it would work with almost any coach so I would use it from time to time depending on the situation but Karl was one of the best to do it too. Of course im sure you guys were fully prepared to go absolutely crazy if he actually took a seat.

Heard it, loved it and I believe they even missed a couple of free throws on it.

For the record, I was rocking the Seven Nations Army in section 224. You guys rock, keep it up.
