OT: Brandon Jennings

Post#1 » by justinb80 » Sun Nov 15, 2009 4:01 am

Jeezus, so much for Blake Griffin. Jennings is a freaking pimp. His line from tonight:

55 points on 21-34 shooting, including 7-8 from 3-point land and 6-8 at the free throw line
5 rebounds
5 assists

OK Jennings has officially blown my mind.

JENNINGS FOR ROY!

Edit: What's the rookie record for points in a game?

He was the best PG in this years draft before the draft and now after he's proving it...He was the one player I hoped the Suns would trade up for, he would have been insane in the Suns system. He was gone at #14 though and Clark was the BPA so nothing to really say what if...

If Bogut stays healthy this year, and Redd comes back without any issues, the Bucks could be a bit of a dark horse in the East.

Yeah I am perfectly fine with our pick of Clark at 14. Only player I might have taken instead is Ty Lawson.

I would've taken T-Will over Clark if he dropped to 14. But yeah, NY was crazy to pass on Jennings.

Jennings would have revived NY better than possibly any player in this draft

NY style PG with moxy and talent to burn

Donnie Walsh will forever be haunted by passing on Jennings. I have no idea why they did it. Perfect PG for a D'Antoni system.

Jeez. Even when his 3 starts to regress, he's going to be nasty.

MY QUESTION TO ALL YOU IS THIS:

How come Jennings played like crap just 6 months ago back in Europe? Yes, he only got like 14 minutes a night, but he averaged loads of turnovers and horrible field goal percentage so the coach didn't put him in.

Does this mean Euro ball is tougher, harder, and better than the NBA?

Does Jennings being good in NBA and bad in Europe mean the NBA is inferior to Euro ball?

I think the answer is yes.

I think Euro ball has less room and need for "stars" and that hurt Jennings' confidence. It's way more of a team game. No one there seems to play more than 30 minutes a night, and there are not a lot of ridiculous stat-stuffers. Here, the Bucks are looking to him to be a savior, and I think that's fed his confidence.

I had my doubts about Jennings, and his mouth really got to me, but jeez - Walsh is going to be having bad dreams about that pick for a long time.

The only thing you can possibly say to downplay his line is ... it's the Warriors, which is either a step up or a step down form the shooting drill with the chairs and asst. coaches holding brooms up. I think the drill has a higher degree of difficulty, but even so

If the Knicks had a young core of Wilson Chandler, Danilo Gallinari, David Lee, and Brandon Jennings? That'd be pretty dang sweet. That'd be a pretty compelling lineup to get Bron-Bron over in NY.
