Speights for Salmons?

Post#1 » by AshyLarrysDiaper » Thu Nov 12, 2009 11:20 pm

I'm stocked with big men, Speights is the PF/C I want to unload and I'd like to try to buy low on Salmons.

Good deal for me? Insulting to the other manager? Even?

My team:

Wade
Brook Lopez
Kidd
Bargnani
Bynum
Jeff Green
Terry
Speights
Stuckey
Hibbert
Chuck Hayes
Steve Blake
Raja Bell

Eh I think it's a fair trade, the whole enamor with Speights is that he could move into the starting lineup once Eddie Jordan realizes Brand and Dalembert suck, but I'd say it's more likely that Salmons (the only true SG on the Bulls) turns it around and plays like he did the last few years than Speights moves into the starting lineup...

I'd offer that trade, not sure if it'll get it done, hopefully the other manager is just really ticked with Salmons ridiculously low FG% and jumps ahead of himself by accepting...

He rejected my offer and counter-proposed Salmons for Kidd. Why I oughta...

I would keep Speights, AshylarrysDiaper. Salmons has a deep team and scoring is pretty much balanced out. When Rose gets his groove back expects his numbers (especially scoring) to plummet a bit. Speights is the best low post threat for the Sixers and it looks like he will be getting more minutes b/c of the aging Elton Brand (and he's bound to injure his bum knee again). In all, Speights is a real sleeper and with a good playmaker like Igoudala, I think his numbers will remain consistent.

How is Speights contributing for you? I was just offered a very interesting deal and it includes Speights:

My: Rondo, Shaq, and David Lee

For his: Speights, Jason Terry, and Charlie Villanueva

I'm in desperate need for high FT%. I lead the league in assists, pts, steals (pretty much b/c of Rondo)

Here's my line-up if you think it would be a fair deal:

Aaron Brooks
Mike Miller
Andre Igoudala
Danny Granger
David Lee
Chris Kaman
Luol Deng
Carl Landry
Udonis Haslem
Brandon Jennings
Chris Duhon
Mo Williams

Do you think the deal will balance out my team. I'm very point guard heavy and could use good scorers like Speights and Terry.

Horrible Mappiah. Don't accept. Although I don't see Shaq or Rondo in your lineup?

Granger will start hitting his FTs, and will give you a massive boost in that category.

@AshyLarry: Hang on to Speights. You can never have enough big men and point guards. Salmons is neither.

Yea I forgot to add them, they are both on my team. However, I really want to acquire Speights b/c he his per 48 min production is outstanding! I am willing to part with Lee and Brooks for Speights and another player (probably Vince).

I offered another deal and it consist of me sending out Shaq and Lee for Carlos Boozer. Is that a good deal?

David Lee is better than Boozer and Speights. Hang on to him. Boozer will just kill your FT% even more.

I'd offer Deng and Duhon for Speights or Mike Miller for Speights straight up. Don't offer anything more.

Boozer receives great passes from Deron Williams. David Lee is in a shoot first environment in NY. To say Boozer is better than Lee is arguable.

I'm not willing to part with Deng for Speights. I just feel Speights is going to explode soon and Speights owner is willing to trade him as long as I include Rondo in the deal.

Is Speights not worth the risk?

Thanks for your critique and input, jorgo.

Speights is out 6-8 weeks with a MCL tear. So no. Dalembert will probably be forece-fed minutes even when in foul trouble now, Thaddeus Young is likely to benefit the most from this injury though.

Yea that's what I'm thinking too. I never had Dalembert before so I don't know how good or consistant he is even with minutes. There are other quality bigmen on the wire(with high blocks) such as Dampier and Haywood. I'm not too sure which one to go actually. I'm a little scared of Dampier since he's so inconsistant, Haywood is okay but I'm not sure if he'll outproduce Dalembert.

Oh man I would go Haywood over Dalembert 10 out of 10 times. Having owned Dalembert before just understand that he's going to be extremely frustrating to have with his stupid fouls that limit his playing time.
