Tell me if you've heard this one before:

Jazz star player is out and his unheralded backup comes in and puts up impressive numbers as a starter. Fans then question the ability of the Jazz star player and immediately find him expendable.

Now all we need to do is shop DW and Boozer around, then overpay Maynor this offseason.

Seriously though, Maynor has a lot more potential than I thought. We have to find a way to get him more min.

Wow...I was the one who first questioned D-Will's leadership abilities and I was crucified...now everyone is starting to question him? WTF? Maybe I do know what I am talking about?...

I do not think anyone is saying DWill is expendable, but I think everyone should agree that Deron needs to get back on track as far as running the offense goes and not trying to do EVERYTHING himself. This is not the NO Hornets.

I think Deron is a little too willing to freelance and rely on his considerable talents. He needs to get back to running the plays....

That's it IMHO.

Right on. I don't understant why there are fellow posters that misinterpret what some of us are saying. I really don't think there's a single Jazz fan looking to part ways with Willimams or thinking he's expendable in any way. But he shouldnt get a free pass just because he's our franchise guy...

Seriously, DWill is my favorite player, and I hope he never leaves the Jazz. I have questioned his leadership abilities for quite some time now. I think so much of it has to do with Boozer, but Boozer will still be with us at least until Feb, so we need to figure out how to win with both of these guys on the court, or this season is completely lost.

I have in no way said Deron is expendable, I think anyone that says that is out of their minds. But, his game has grown a lot, and I think he is finding a hard time knowing when to use his amazing abilities and when to let the team use theirs. I don't mind him taking 12-16 shots a night, that is great, but I don't want to see him take more than that very often.

Word is, South Beach is ecstatic that they
won't be seeing Millsaps talents again this season...

It's not about how many shots he takes, it's about running the system and taking shots within the system. Let Sloan do more playcalling so we can get back to the pick n roll.

Let Sloan do the calls; his knowledge about basketball is far beyond the player's knowlegde for sure. Matter of fact may be they lost @Cavs just because one guy decided to go his way instead of Sloan's....

Sloan let Williams call the plays out of respect for him; I'm ok with this half of the time. But Williams still has to go long ways about actually managing a tough game. Sloan should call almost all of it, and let Wiliams adjust when the plays are broken... matter of fact this is one of the things Deron has still to work hard on... to adjust on the fly...
