Manning's the Man! Colts play lackluster football for 3 quarters and steal one from the Pats.

Re: Week 10 game thread
If you actually look into the percentages and add that all they needed was one of three things to happen:
1. Get the 1st on 4th and 2.
2. Stop Manning on a shorter field.
3. If Manning scores, go and get a field goal.
Considering Addai nearly scored with a minute to go, the Patriots could have gone and kicked a field goal. That guy that tackled him possibly should have known better, though that wasn't an obvious decision.
Just total guess, but:
The chances of getting 4th down and 1 1/2= ~50%
Chances of stopping Manning starting at the Pats 28 = ~15%
Chances of getting it back and getting a FG = ~10%
Compared to just stopping the Colts after the punt which might be about 50 or 60%. Slightly better odds on getting one of the three above things in my opinion.

Few sports teams have more bandwagon fans than the Patriots. That's one of the main reasons other fans send so much animosity their way. Not that I'm calling anyone on here a bandwagoner. There are obviously a lot of true fans from that area who just have good fortune.

Colts have their share of band wagoners as well. So does every team that develops a winning tradition.

Indianapolis is truly a bandwagon city. Look at the Pacers attendance, last in the league. When they were good they were selling out. Half the time I forget we have a basketball team because nobody even talks about them.

The amount of time ESPN is spending on the Pats/Colts game and the 4th down decision is ridicolous.

Humdrum MNF game, though I did learn I was born in the same hospital as Jon Gruden.
But the flag on Jason Trusnik for the low hit on Joe Flacco
me off!! Trusnik is blocked in the back and sent to the ground and is trying to get up. Flacco RUNS INTO HIM and Trusnik gets flagged. This whole protect the QB thing has gone way too
far.

Thrilling 0-0 halftime tie. Browns defense playing very well, Joe Flacco is not despite what you might be hearing from Jaws and Chucky.
And as I type that he throws a strike to Mason for a long gain.

Re: Week 10 game thread
that cheap shot by quinn on suggs after the interception was horrible. going under the radar by the announcers, who should be calling him out on it.

Even as a Ravens fan, neither team won tonight.
What a pitiful effort from both teams' offenses.
If we don't get our act together, Indy and Peyton will feast on us next week.

Re: Week 10 game thread
Lousy game, Baltimore did just enough to win.
For the record, the Browns now have 5 offensive TDs since last Thanksgiving. They have lost 4 games in their last 18 where the opposing defense outscored them.
Baltimore needs to shore up the interior OL. I know they were facing a pretty good Browns front, but they got very little run surge and Flacco couldn't step up in the pocket very often. Pretty vanilla offensively too. The defense is still good, but it's not win-with-no-help good.

Re: Week 10 game thread
When the 4th down happened in the NE/IND game I really didn't think it was all that controversial of a decision. The play called bothered me more than the decision to go for it. The Colts couldn't cover the intermeidate middle of the field all game but had been pretty good about reading and jumping those short outside routes. I would have liked to see 4 receivers spread and something short across the middle as the primary read, with the RB sneaking out after pass protect duties. The play called had very little chance IMO.
FWIW I remember the Ravens doing almost the exact same thing against the Colts a few years back. It wasn't quite that late in the game (maybe 6 mins. left?), but they were up by 4 and had 4th and short inside their own 40. Brian Billick went for it, Jamal Lewis got stuffed. On either second or third down on the Colts possession Ed Reed got a INT/TD off Manning. The way Manning was off Sunday night I don't blame The Hoodie at all for thinking his defense could force a turnover or get a stop. Or get the ball back with enough time to mount a comeback--though he wasted two timeouts early and that ultimately foiled them.

The Colts haven't lost to the Ravens for like a solid 5 years.
