Yeah, that's true.
But if you guys get healthy, you will probably not make the playoffs anyhow, you dug to deep of hole to get back into the Playoff race. But might ruin your chances of landing a top 2 pick if you win enough games that your odds of landing a top pick go way down..

You might as well tank the season, and hope you get a shot at John Wall.

Also, not sure if anyone realized, but D-Wade had to hit that shot to keep his streak of consecutive games of 20+ points scored also. Great job.

This game wouldn't have been as close had Wade asserted himself earlier in the 4th instead of waiting till the end. Oh well a win is a win. 7-2!!!

I feel bad that Jennings overshadowed D tonight.

If it was LeBron or Kobe instead of D, no matter if Jennings scored 81, they would show Kobe/Bron's gamewinner every single damn second.

Was this the first time that Wade hit a game winning shot when the Heat were down by a point? All the game winning shots that I can remember (Utah, Chicago, New York) were with the scores tied.

I think that NO gw shot off the backboard was when we were down a point.

There's a mix of Wade game winners on youtube, and the off the backboard winner was in a tie game. All of the game winners in the mix were in tie games.

There are 2 things that get me whinny...

1) seeing a player on the floor that I know is not worth the minutes or seeing a player that i know someone is superior behind him.Joel Anthony is a nice 3rd string Center, but hes no center. He cant rebound, he for some reason always ends up with the ball in his hands on offense and he makes us play 4 on 5 on offense. Jamal Magloire should be used more for his rebounding and power.

2) Coachs are there to put the players in a positon to win. To many times this year, we have won dispite our coach and his ways. How many times will he start the 4th with a lineup that couldnt win the D-League? I can name 2 or 3 games, where we went 4-6 minutes without a score. Last year, I was hard but this is his second year, his no longer a rookie coach and his had a full off-season to learn from hes mistakes and yet he does the same things again. Its not being whinny, its stating something that others are either to blind to see or just missing it. Right now, my biggest problem is that i feel this team has the potential to be very good and were being held back by a coach that has the potential to be very good. If we expect the player to be great, I expect my coach to be great.

We have the third best record in the league, if Portland beats Atlanta today (very possible) and Phoenix loses to Houston in Houston (also possible), we'd have the best record in the league.

Spoelstra must be doing something right.

I know there are some bad lineups at times, but people seem to be neglecting the good. Spoelstra has this team playing the best defense in the league right now.

I don't know if I'd say this team is being 'held back' - they are eclipsing every single persons expectations for them.

I know our record is good but what team have we really beat except the Nuggets? We've faced some of the weaker teams right now. Spo has brought a defensive mindset to the team which I like but I was responded to the person that said I was whinny. I stated that 3 things get me going, Joel and his minutes, Ugly rotations and lineups. I agree that his mindset is working on defense.

Indy and Chicago were solid wins, and Phoenix and Cleveland could've easily gone the other way. Just like last season, the Heat have been in position to win every game so far. Spo's doing just fine, and it's only his second year.

I was just pointing out that Spoelstra is doing an amazing job, but has some flaws.

You wouldn't say that Wade is junk because his 3 point shot is bad and he sometimes gambles for steals too much, but every time I read something about Spoelstra it sounds like he's ruining this team and we'd be undefeated if it wasn't for him being in the way.

I do have this thought in the back of my mind that Spo prefers our starters to all keep their minutes down, but be involved in lots of tight, high pressure games. This is probably optimistic thinking, but we'll be up 10 going into the fourth, and he will put a junk lineup out there until it gets close, then put our starters in, well rested, and let them grind out close games. I like to think he does this so that by the time the playoffs come around, our team will have a lot of confidence and experience in playing tight games, and be more adept at it.

It may just be that he has unfounded faith in Wright, Anthony, Arroyo etc, but I like to think he is trying to give our young team a crash course in late game battles to speed up the process of getting them big game ready.

Both sides of this argument NEED to have some sort of middle ground.

Spoelstra is not the devil and he doesn't do everything wrong and he's not a saint who is the sole reason for our success. Both ends of this spectrum are way too extreme. Spoelstra is a great defensive coach and he's very good at preparing for a team, some people just have an issue with his stubborn in game rotations.

The record is not some sort of excuse to imply that everything is going fine. A 9 game sample of a season is nothing in the long run, certain problems that didn't lead to losses during this stretch could in the future.

So yeah, let's find a medium in this discussion.
