Lakers booed at home in 101-91 loss to Rockets

World Champs getting booed. How emberrassing but well deserved. Hopefully Mitch and P.J will take the proper actions needed to put this team back on track.

LOS ANGELES(AP) Trevor Ariza got his NBA championship ring and his Houston Rockets got the win.

Aaron Brooks saw the ring dripping with diamonds and suddenly he was off on a career night. He took the Houston Rockets with him, scoring a career-high 33 points, including five 3-pointers, in a 101-91 victory over Los Angeles on Sunday night, sending the Lakers to a second consecutive loss.

``That's my first time seeing an NBA ring,'' Brooks said. ``It moved us and we played inspired basketball.''

And the NBA champs? Well, they looked downright ordinary again.

The Lakers were coming off a 105-79 drubbing at Denver two nights earlier only to have another team they vanquished in last season's title run show them up at home, where they got booed.

``Defensively, we need to step it up,'' Andrew Bynum said. ``That's what we're lacking right now. We got guards trying to box out bigs. Bigs trying to box out guards. We're all over the place right now.''

The Lakers have three losses already, something that didn't happen last season until Dec. 9.

Its a good wake up call.

You know Utah, the Rockets, Nuggets & the Magic are gunning for the world champs... and everyone else.

Better to peak late than blow your wad like the Celts did last year.

Im not worried one bit..that's just a case of veteran team...their gonna have many times were they play uninspiring ball early in the season...theyll pick it up towards the end when it really matters....trust me...we dont even have Gasol back yet.

Sting3r I hate that signature, kill it please.

Uninspired ball is always unacceptable in a non back to back, no excuse at home. The LAL players put out that product to those top dollar ticket fans, truly it's a true crime. It angers me they play so lazy. I would have more effort playing with a hangover Sunday shooting hoop at the park for 4 hours.

I was busy with my projects and what not so i missed the game last night. However, by looking at the box score, I could get a sense of what probably happened. Our offense was out of sync, Fisher was getting OWNED by Brooks yet again, and Kobe had an off night. I'm not too worried though, this team just doesn't care about the regular season, and Brooks, or any fast PGs for that matter, always owns us. The only real issue for me is that Phil Jackson needs to examine the matchups and stop playing Fisher against the Brooks, Ty Lawson, Chris Paul, and other fast PGs. If we almost lost to the Rockets last year because of **** Aaron Brooks, imagine what a healthy Tony Parker would do to us if we play the Spurs in the playoffs

NBA is a marathon, not a sprint

Not at all worried...But the fans had every right to boo. With the price of tickets, its inexcusable for the team to give such sh*tty efforts. We can all take a couple of hard fought losses, but to lose at home to Dallas and Houston by double digits isn't going to sit well with any fans.
Thank you, Phil.

Home games are almost always boring and worth booing.

sprints and marathons are NBA myths...
im a laker fan and i believe in 100% effort in all 82 games...they get paid millions for doing what they do best...all a fan asks for is effort, entertainment, and success. laker fans are one of the most spoiled fans in the world, and im proud to say i would like to stay that way.
thank you

This is just how this team functions. Plays inspired then tails off. The Houston game was awful though they were simply just palying harder than us.
